Welcome to Sylvan Cottage, our beautifully appointed, modern 120 year old cottage set amongst established gardens and located an easy walk to the centre of town in charming Tenterfield. Relax by the fire, cook up a storm, enjoy a romantic soak in the clawfoot bath or open a bottle of locally made wine and enjoy the sunset on the verandah. The space One of Australia’s most famous writers and poets, Banjo Patterson, lived in Tenterfield for a short time in the early 1900's. Banjo proposed to his sweetheart, Alice Walker of Tenterfield Station, at Boonoo Boonoo Falls Lookout in 1903, the same year our original cottage was built. In 2007 the cottage was extensively and sympathetically renovated which has made our job of refreshing and presenting this beautiful cottage a pleasure. Enjoy two comfortable, separate living areas, one with an efficient slow combustion heater for the cooler months and fully ducted air conditioning when it's warmer. For those who choose to cook, enjoy the fully appointed, spacious chef's kitchen, featuring a Falcon stove, a Miele dishwasher, KitchenAid appliances and an authentic Shaws sink. A generous farmhouse style table comfortably seats six in the adjoining dining room. Sleep peacefully in one of the three bedrooms. The main suite offers a queen bed, private ensuite and its own private verandah. The second bedroom has two king single beds and the third, a queen bed, with both bedrooms accessing the large, covered wrap around verandah through private french doors. The spacious main bathroom includes a clawfoot bath, twin sinks and an adjoining separate toilet. Underfloor heating is provided in both bathrooms and the kitchen. A secure lock up garage is available for one vehicle. The home is surrounded by well established gardens for your enjoyment. Guest access Guests have full access to the entire property. Other things to note We regret that our house is not child friendly and is not suitable for children under the age of 12 due to safety concerns and decor that may be easily damaged.
