The Little House

Surrounded by native bushland, a 10 min drive from Cooma, you’ll find La Casita aka The Little House, an eco-friendly cottage on 8 acres. Jindabyne is a 45 min drive and Canberra is one hour away. Jodi, Dennis and Sam live in the main house (100m away). We also have two labradors (in an enclosed yard) and three cats. La Casita has recently been renovated and all furnishings and furniture are new. The space Far from the hustle and bustle of city life, the only sounds to be heard are the birds and the animals. Both La Casita and the main house face north, with La Casita behind the main house providing privacy for all occupants. Guests can access almost the entire 8-acre property however adjacent is bushland for hiking and quiet sealed roads perfect for cycling and walking. Guest access An easy 10-minute drive from Cooma, the property is on the left-hand side at the end of a cul-de-sac. When you drive down the driveway and arrive in front of the main house, you will see La Casita down the hill to your left. You can drive to the cabin and park right outside or if you'd prefer not to drive there (it's a little rough but most guests drive there even in smaller cars) you can park in the carport and walk down. La Casita is situated approx 100m down a track from the carport (see additional photos 'La Casita from the main house'). If your host won’t be available to meet you, you will be notified of where to find the key. Other things to note To ease the tread on our planet, La Casita is solar powered and the water supply is from a rainwater tank. La Casita has an eco-toilet, which is a waterless composting toilet. Please ensure only human waste and toilet paper is deposited into the toilet. It looks the same as a normal toilet but does not flush. It is easy to use and odourless. As La Casita is small with limited storage space, only the basic kitchen equipment is permanently in the kitchenette. A gas camp stove is available upon request for outdoor use only. La Casita does not have a laundry but particularly for longer staying guests, the laundry in the main house can be used upon request. Registration Details PID-STRA-41429
