This charming village in the Susa Valley is a few kilometers from Susa and is easily accessible from Turin, both by train and by car. The medieval origins of Bussoleno are still visible in its most significant historical buildings, such as Casa Aschieris, the Locanda della Croce Bianca (also known as Casa Amprimo) and the Borello Castle, which dominates the town from the top of the hill. Bussoleno was once an important crossing point for pilgrims on the Via Francigena (Moncenisio branch) and a strategic crossroads for rail trade between Italy and France. Don't miss the Museum of Railway Transport through the Alps, which tells the story of the Alpine connections with evocative reconstructions and period artifacts.
