Other things to note Things to Do Bents Cottage is perfectly situated between the charming village of Oxenhope and the historic village of Haworth, the main street is considered one of the prettiest in England. Just a 15-minute walk (or 2-minute drive) from the cottage, Haworth offers a wealth of attractions. At the top of the main street, behind the church, stands the Brontë Parsonage, once home to the Brontë sisters, their brother Branwell, and father Patrick Brontë. Patrick moved the family into the parsonage in 1820 when he became curate at St Michael and All Angels Church. Today, the Parsonage is a fascinating museum, displaying artefacts including childhood writings, drawings, and Charlotte Brontë’s writing desk, allowing visitors to step back into literary history. Nearby, Penistone Hill Country Park and the surrounding moorlands offer the dramatic landscapes that inspired the Brontë sisters’ novels. Haworth’s main street is also home to delightful restaurants, cosy country pubs, charming tea rooms, and independent gift shops. For families, there’s a beautiful park where children can play and ride their bikes, making the area ideal for exploring both history and the natural beauty of the Yorkshire countryside.
