As you step through the front door into the soaring 7.5-metre-high parabolic vault, you'll discover a living/dining space and kitchen, built of recycled bricks and salvaged materials. This cathedral-like space feels both embracing and welcoming. Experience the extraordinary with the unglazed retractable oculus, positioned to capture optimal views of the southern night skies—a feature that doubles as a giant skylight during the day, following the path of the sun. Designed around passive solar principles, the oculus acts as a chimney, drawing hot air out of the house in summer. The arched ceilings and external blade walls create a rhythm throughout, echoing the Blue Mountains landscape and contributing to the house's overall sense of calm and restraint. The fully equipped kitchen at Night Sky seamlessly blends functionality and style, inviting guests to indulge their culinary passions in a modern and sophisticated setting. The house is thoughtfully laid out with a main bedroom and bathroom in the easterly wing to greet the sunrise, and a second bedroom and study with an en suite bathroom to the west.
