This three-bed cottage is beautiful inside and out and just the place to kick back and relax on a family or friends’ holiday in the tranquil village of Caldbeck, just within the northern boundary of the Lake District National Park. It’s stylishly kitted out, retaining period and rustic features – such as beams, slate floors and a wood burner – with a pared-back chic that still affords the utmost comfort for a luxury break. Upstairs, you have the choice of a super-king-size bedroom (that can be a twin by arrangement), a king-size and a twin. They all offer calming spaces with comfortable beds and neutral decor for a great night’s sleep. There’s plenty of outdoor space with a private patio suntrap area as well as a lawned front garden complete with a beck overlooking the village. Get your boots on and hit the many walking and cycling trails from the village; go as far as The Howk limestone gorge with waterfalls and old mill ruins or much further afield if you’re feeling energetic. The village pub serves home-cooked food and welcomes dogs if you fancy a night off cooking. The Lake District is at your disposal so you can explore small towns and fells – why not climb Skiddaw which is 14.5 miles away or admire Bassenthwaite Lake, just 11.5 miles?
