Allens Cottage is a stunning Scandi-style home hidden within an English cottage surrounded by fields and vineyards in the heart of the Meon Valley. It is within walking distance of two great pubs and an excellent village shop. The home is in a tranquil location, set within a large garden with outstanding views. The house is open plan with a kitchen, dining area, two living areas, opening onto a large south-facing terrace. With 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, sleeping 9 or a friendly 11. The space Allens Cottage is a beautiful, newly refurbished home with an amazing south-facing garden. It is extremely bright and light, due to all the large windows and doors. On entry to the house, you will find a large boot room, perfect for muddy boots, and plenty of hanging space for coats. There is a utility room with a washing machine and dryer, a fridge and freezer and an iron and ironing board. Also stored here are additional crockery and glasses. Off the entrance hall is a separate guest toilet. On entering the main house, you will find the kitchen which is fully equipped, with fridge/ freezer, electric hob, oven, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, NutriBullet and Magimix. There are enough pots and pans, spices and herbs required for the most discerning cooks. A breakfast bar provides seating for two. The dining table will seat up to 12 people when fully extended. The living area has a wall-mounted TV, a central wood-burning stove, and an L-shaped seating area with bifold and French doors opening onto an extensive terrace that overlooks a large garden with stunning views beyond. The terrace has a seating area with a fire pit, an outdoor dining table and chairs, and wooden deck chairs. We have also recently welcomed a Whiskey Wellbeing Barrel which now sits on the edge of our terrace, awaiting your cold plunges! We have five bedrooms with six beds sleeping nine, or a friendly eleven. Two are downstairs, one with a king-size bed and another with a single bed, ideal for guests who are less mobile. There is also a shower room adjacent to these rooms. A wooden staircase leads to three more bedrooms upstairs. A beautiful master bedroom with an en-suite shower room and king-size bed. A second bedroom with a super king size bed and a wall-mounted television. There is a further lovely quirky bedroom accessed through a small sliding door which has two queen size beds. This bedroom is suitable for two persons or could be used by four children to share. A family bathroom with a wonderful Victorian style bath and amazing shower, and double sink. All upstairs rooms have glorious views over the vineyards and fields to the north and south of the property. There is plenty of car parking space with two undercover parking spaces within the oak-framed garage. The space boasts a layout perfect for multi-generation families and groups of friends, many of our guests are reuniting as a group to celebrate a special something. Guest access You are very welcome to use the entire house and garden during your stay. There are a couple of locked cupboards and a workshop that are not accessible. Other things to note We look forward to welcoming you and sharing all that we have to offer at this stunning location in one of Hampshire's most beautiful villages. Please note there is strictly no smoking and no pets within the property. There is also a stable yard nearby, and horses can be seen in surrounding paddocks. Along with local walks including the South Downs Way and the Wayfarers Walk direct from Allens Cottage, you are spoilt for choice when it comes to local days out; Winchester, Portsmouth, Peppa Pig World, Highclere Castle, Bombay Sapphire Museum, Marwell Zoo, The Watercress Steam Railway line … to name but a few. There are also two super pubs 5/10 minutes’ walk away and a very well-stocked village shop. The surrounding area has local villages with cozy pubs, independent shops, and excellent cafes.
