Idyllic private thatched cottage

Take a break and unwind at this peaceful oasis. Located in the Bourne Valley in Ibthorpe, a detached cottage with a king sized bed, a desk to work or study, a window seat to curl up and read a book, and a smart tv with good WiFi. You have a private en-suite bathroom with shower, and a kitchenette with a sink, hob and fridge to cook simple meals. We are dog friendly and the cottage opens straight out onto a footpath with miles of open countryside to explore with many local pubs. The space The front door opens into a practical hallway and kitchenette, the perfect place to take off muddy boots, hang coats and dry off muddy dogs. Kitchenette facilities include a sink, hob, kettle, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine and a fridge. From the hall way you can step through to the bathroom or into the bedroom. The bedroom has a kingsized bed with an excellent mattress, crisp white bedding from Soak & Sleep and a stylish headboard. There is a desk, a comfy leather chair, a Roberts retro radio/blue tooth speaker, a Samsung Frame Smart TV and excellent wifi (there is also a strong 4G mobile signal). Our favourite part of the room is the floor to ceiling book case with it’s window seat, just the spot to curl up and read a book or enjoy the view out over the roof tops across the valley. The book shelves have smart lighting which you can adjust from a remote control to create a cosy ambience in the evening. The cottage has good privacy but does back onto our garden, however we have set aside our young orchard for your own private use. This is great for dogs and in the summer, it’s suitable for picnics (if you contact us ahead of time, we can arrange camping for an extra cost). Guest access This is a totally self contained cottage, there is a key safe by the front door which opens onto a footpath/farm track so you can enjoy privacy and come and go as you please without disturbing anyone. There is a single parking space available for you to use. There is a short walk from your car to the cottage so bring a torch if you are arriving in the dark! Unfortunately it is not possible to drive up the track to unload bags, they will need to be carried. Other things to note There’s plenty of outdoor space, we have a field with a view out over the Valley that you can use to enjoy a picnic or some sun bathing, or just exercise your dogs (note we are very dog friendly as long as they are over one year old!). The footpath that runs past your door leads out to stunning scenery (and some very good pubs). The Bourne Valley is a nature lovers paradise, it is absolutely beautiful at any time of year and feels very remote but it actually only takes 12 minutes to get here by taxi from Andover train station.
