Little Moor Barn - the perfect place to unwind. Enjoy stunning views from this romantic retreat for two set in the heart of Dartmoor. It is the perfect place for exploring the moor or just being in nature. Lovingly converted, furnished with an eclectic mix of old and new it is full of luxurious touches, sink into the super king size bed for the best nights sleep, read a book in front of the fire or just watch weather change across the moor from the sofa in the open-plan living area upstairs. The space GROUND FLOOR Set over two floors, the barn has a spacious entrance hall with plenty of room to hang coats and store boots, a laundry area for all your needs and a cloakroom with space to hang washing or dry outdoor gear. Beyond this is a large hall with a comfortable reading nook and leads through to the bedroom and en-suite bathroom. The cosy bedroom has a super-king size bed and boasts nothing but feather pillows and quality linens and is the perfect place for lazy lie ins. With an open wardrobe and large chest of drawers, unpack and feel at home. The en-suite bathroom has a luxury walk-in waterfall shower, heated towel rail to warm the softest bath sheets we could find and luxury toiletries. The ground floor is heated by thermostatically controlled underfloor heating which we have set to an ambient temperature. Please let us know if you would like this adjusted and we will be happy to help. FIRST FLOOR The bespoke ash staircase in the hall leads up to a light filled open-plan living area. Furnished with an eclectic mix of old and new and all you need for a comfortable stay, whatever the weather outside! The kitchen is fully equipped, including induction hob, oven, toaster, fridge and freezer, there is a choice of Nespresso coffee pods or prepare your own coffee in a traditional cafetière. We have left a few basics but, on request, we can stock the wine rack, prepare a breakfast hamper, or fill the fridge with local handcrafted beer for your arrival from the local specialist shops in Ashburton - we normally just need about a weeks notice to source everything in time and it is subject to an additional charge. There is a dining table to enjoy delicious home cooked meals and settle into the large sofa in front of the Morso wood burner to watch your favourite film on the 48' LG OLED Smart TV. There is even a curly sheepskin beanbag to sink into and read a book or just watch the weather change over the moor. You will find a selection of books in the barn, including local guide books, and a few old favourite board games, backgammon cards and jigsaw. OUTSIDE We've laid the Barn terrace with slates, and the curved wall is from stone we unearthed while working on the barn. Surrounded by ferns and scented flowers, it's a sunspot in the summer and the perfect place to soak up the sunset with a glass of something and we can provide a BBQ set on request. Beyond the barn terrace is the rest of the generous garden which you are welcome to use during your stay. You will probably see us around - gardening, chopping logs or heading out for a walk with Fred our friendly Bedlington Whippet / Border cross and Pip our enthusiastic Lurcher cross. We shouldn't disturb you though, and we'll leave you in peace unless you'd like a chat or if there is something we can help you with. Other things to note This is a special place, and the valley has its own unique sense of history, with the faint impressions of ancient settlements, its wildlife and unique flora we want to share that with you and help to preserve Dartmoor as a National Park for generations to follow.
