The space This stone cottage manages to seamlessly mix charm and period features with modern and comfortable living and is beautifully decorated throughout. The lounge is generous but feels cosy with lots of comfortable seating under its beamed ceiling and a multi-fuel burner in a stone chimney. The modern staircase adds a quirky design feature here too. The kitchen/diner is next door with an exposed stone feature wall, table seating four, practical tiled floor and fitted kitchen with more mod cons than you probably have at home! The king-size and twin bedrooms are upstairs, nestling in the eaves, complete with sloping ceilings, Velux windows and beams in one for added character and that cute factor. They are beautifully kitted out in wood and neutral decor for a restful night. These share a modern walk-in shower room, while there’s a family bathroom with bath downstairs. Outside space comprises a quaint enclosed patio with built-in BBQ and seating. If you’re here to hike, you won’t be disappointed with walking and cycling trails on the doorstep and Northumberland National Park and Kielder Forest Park to explore. The area is renowned for its dark skies, with limited light pollution, so stargazing is a must at night. The market town of Alnwick (10.5 miles) offers visitors a splendid castle and gardens as well as independent shopping and eateries.
