The space The cottage is small and cosy with the enjoyment of a traditional log burner. Sky TV package included. The cottage is full of character and reflects traditional features of times gone by but with the comfort of today's living. Enjoy the views from the Garden Studio set on the side of a mountain overlooking the Moelwyns. A bus stop is very close too for a trip to Minfordd for Portmeirion or 20 mins to Porthmadog where the train station connects to beaches and castles at Pwllheli, Criccieth and Harlech, as well as sandy beaches and lovely pubs and restaurants at Barmouth and Aberdovey The town offers stunning walks in the surrounding area with a lake found at the back of the mountain; Llyn Y Manod as well as walks to historic quarries and reservoirs with waterfalls on the way. Blaenau Ffestiniog hosts the first narrow gauge steam railway where you can enjoy an authentic journey through beautiful snowdonia landscapes to Porthmadog. The town also hosts some lovely cafes. De Niros on the High Street does a wonderful breakfast. The Lakeside Cafe too is another option. Local grocery shops are within a 15 minute walking distance; small Morrisons and a well stocked Co-Op. A bakery and takeaways too. The local chippy Trish n Chips can also deliver. Check the website for info. Enjoy a day out at Betws-y-coed for the Steam Train, restaurants, shops and nature walk with bubbling springs and streams. Zip world at Llechwedd is just a short drive away where you can also enjoy learning more about the slate and mining industry where Blaenau Ffestiniog was the slate capital of the world in the 1800s. Not forgetting Snowdon too! or simply enjoy a cosy stay indoors watching the flames of the log burner swirling with a glass of wine or hot chocolate. Other things to note Please note that the cottage has a downstairs bathroom Please note like all quirks in old traditional cottages the stairs are deep / steep and to mind your head where the ceiling height lowers when descending down the stairs. The cottage garden has a garden studio positioned at a higher level in the garden on the mountainside where views towards the Moelwyns can be enjoyed. Please be careful when ascending and descending the studio and the steps in the garden. The cottage has slate steps at the front of the cottage entrance. these can become slippery in wet and icy conditions. If ordering an online shop for your stay please note the cottage doesn't have a freezer compartment in the fridge. Charging electric vehicles from the cottage domestic electricity supply is currently strictly prohibited.
