Furnished with a wood burner and comfortable sofas, the open-plan lounge/diner is ideal for relaxing. Put your feet up and watch a film on the TV while keeping warm in front of the fire. Seating four, the dining table is great for family meals. Cook up a storm in the galley-style kitchen which is well-equipped for our stay. Four people can sleep over the two bright and cheerful bedrooms, furnished so you can have a restful sleep. There's also a shower room to refresh you after a day in the countryside and what's more, you can also take two of your canine pals. The village of Umberleigh is just under a mile away, with pubs and shops as well as a handy train station. Hop on the train to Exeter for a shopping trip, to visit award-winning restaurants or just to explore. In the other direction lies Barnstaple, which boasts the Tarka Trail for picturesque walks and a lovely town centre with a popular pannier market. Further afield, you can find several beaches such as Saunton (16 miles) and Westward Ho! (17 miles). Pack a bucket and spade and you're ready for a fun-filled day by the sea.
