The Coalmont Cove - Romantic Lakefront Escape

The Coalmont is a 4 acre waterfront retreat on top of the South Cumberland Mountains of Tennessee, between Nashville and Chattanooga. The Coalmont Cove is a tiny home that sits in the cove of a private lake. The definition of relaxation with adventure only minutes away, you'll find elevated decor, an inviting outdoor space, and beautiful scenery. The perfect retreat if you’re looking for a romantic getaway or a quiet place to disconnect or work remotely (1 GB fiber optic internet). The space The Cove is our recent addition to The Coalmont: a beautiful wooded, waterfront peninsula between Nashville and Chattanooga. It is our family's getaway retreat, and we love sharing it with others as well! The Cove is a Scandinavian-inspired tiny home that sits in the cove of a private lake and has 1 acre of the property to itself. We thoughtfully curated the space, indoor and out, and spared no expense to make it a luxury stay for anyone who wants to disconnect from day-to-day life and reconnect with a loved one, OR spend quiet time alone. Elevated decor and high-end furniture; this is not your typical Airbnb. (ADDITIONAL cabin on the other side of the property that sleeps 4 if you have a larger party and want to rent them both. Perfect for a double-date getaway!) This 192 sq ft space is the perfect size for 1-2 people, with a queen bed, kitchenette, and full bath. Upon entering, you will find yourself in the main living space. To the right, there is a dining table for two, couch, Le Feu fireplace, smart TV with all the apps, and comfortable bed with Tuft and Needle mattress and topper next to a giant picture window, overlooking the lake (and facing the sunset!). To the left, you will find a fully stocked kitchette (with mini fridge and freezer, two burner stovetop, griddle, toaster, pots and pans, spices and oil) and a full bathroom. High-speed (1 GB) internet for a "workcation" and parking for 2 cars. Outdoor amenities include lake views (we regularly have guests tell us that it looks like a scene from The Notebook!), hot tub with lounger, large deck space with double hanging egg swing, outdoor dining table and lounge chairs, patio with Tiki fire pit (with grill/griddle attachments) and 2 Adirondack chairs, lawn games, and green space. Whether you want to enjoy an intimate night indoors, watching a movie by the fire and playing board games, or relax by the water in the hot tub or by the night fire under the stars, The Coalmont is here to provide the ultimate place to unwind and reconnect. If you are interested in fishing or taking a kayak out on the water, Big Creek Public Rec area and lake is only 3 miles from the Cove (you must bring your own gear). Also minutes from the Caverns music venue and Bigfoot Adventure. Guest access The Coalmont consists of 4 acres, but The Cove only consists of the 1 acre to the left of the driveway. This is the part of the property that can be accessed during your stay. The area to the right of the driveway is for our Cabin guests. A map will be provided to you upon booking. Additionally, there is no access to the water from this part of the property. If you have a larger party and book the cabin as well, water access is allowed from the cabin. Otherwise, if you are interested in fishing or taking a kayak out on the water, Big Creek Public Rec area is only 3 miles from the Cove! (you must bring your own gear) There are two parking spaces on site. A vehicle is required to navigate around Coalmont and surrounding areas. Most activities off of the property are at least a 10 minute drive, and ride-sharing is not available in the area. Other things to note *Inquire about our Romance Package, Photo Package, and Micro-wedding/Elopement Package! *We are unable to accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs. Due to the coordination of multiple properties on site, along with the level of care and attention our cleaning crew provides, the majority of the time between guests is used to make sure everything is ready for your arrival. *Please note that due to the limited space, there is not an oven or microwave. Cooking appliances include a two burner stove top, griddle, toaster, mini fridge and freezer, and outdoor grill/griddle on our Tiki firepit. Grocery stores are within 3 miles, but food delivery is limited. Please plan meals accordingly :) * This property is in a wooded, waterfront location, which means you are out in nature! We keep our home very clean (check our reviews), but you may see wildlife in the yard and the occasional outdoor insect making an indoor appearance. If that makes you squeamish, this is not the booking for you! *There is one fire starter pack provided per night, for the outdoor fire pit. The indoor fireplace contains enough fuel for 2-3 hours of total light time (it can be turned off and relit as many times as you’d like until it runs out of fuel). Please plan for fires accordingly. *Due to the remote location, most restaurants and attractions are at least 10-15 minutes away. You can find more information in the guidebook and house manual upon booking. * Thunderstorms, snow storms, or traffic accidents make it possible that you may experience a power outage during your stay. Sometimes it can take several hours to restore power. We provide flashlights! Date change requests submitted within 30 days will be treated like a cancellation and the cancellation policy will apply.
