Our secluded, lake front retreat has a variety of waterfowl, forest animals and stunning mile-long views of Lake Wylie. Your 600 Sq. Ft private cabin was built in 2023 and is nestled in the woods on the lake side of our property. Just minutes from the trendy small town of Belmont, w/ popular restaurants, pubs and boutiques. 5 min to Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens, 15 min to the National Whitewater Center. 30 min to uptown Charlotte. A 2nd cabin is at airbnb.com/h/charlotte-area-riverside-cabin The space Owners live on adjacent property, so you'll almost always have on-site support. A lighted path leads from parking through a natural area to your cabin. A 16x16 deck sits in front of the entrance with outdoor dining and lounge chairs. The main room has a full kitchen and dining area along with a sofa and chairs facing two large picture windows offering views of the lake. On the wall opposite the kitchen is a fully-equipped tech package w/Smart TV, surround sound speakers and Wi-Fi, along with a small office space. In the back of this space is your bedroom behind a movable screen that allows stunning views from your bed. A modern bathroom with floor to ceiling shower tiles completes your cabin. This property is very secluded and the only visible houses are across the lake. You arrive via a dirt road that runs along the lake side with other houses, so it's not really part of a neighborhood. There is no public transportation to the property, so a car or Uber is a must. Finally, there is a small utility room in a separate section of the building that is inaccessible from and not part of your cabin. Hosts use the laundry and bathroom in this room primarily to service the two cabins on the property and to store supplies. Hosts may enter this utility room as needed during your stay. Guest access The property has a total of 3 acres of open fields and wooded areas. A small boardwalk leads to another 2 acres of lake-side wetlands that occasionally floods, but where you can walk along the water for hundreds of yards the majority of the year. There is a common outdoor recreation area by the water that contains a large fire pit, kayak and paddle board launch, and a 1/2 acre flat field with several yard games. Fishing spots are all around with over 500 ft. of shoreline on three sides. Only the area immediately surrounding our house is off limits to guests. Water is about 20 yards from one of the cabins with no protective barrier. While the majority of the water front has an almost flat access to the water, the river side of our property has a drop-off before you get to the water that might be dangerous for a smaller children. It is important to note that this is a secluded and open natural area next to a large body of water, with a potential for snakes. You are also likely to see deer, otters and a variety of large waterfowl. Other things to note There are two cabins available to rent, and each is a private, separate structure only sharing an outdoor gas grill between the two. The cabins are separated by about 40 ft with no ability to see inside one cabin from the other. In addition, they face in opposite directions with completely distinct views and outdoor decks. We allow pets for a fee but discourage large pets or those that would run away when off leash.
