The space This adorable ranch house sits on a sloping lawn ending in a rocky beach on Mount Hope Bay in Bristol, RI. Through the large sliding glass doors of the open living room/dining room/kitchen, one can take in the sweeping view of the bay, from Touissett, RI through Somerset and Fall River, MA to Tiverton, RI. Watch herons, swans, seagulls, and mallards fish the shore while sailboats glide by in the distance behind them. We have two dedicated workspaces so you can work remotely. One desk in the shared living/dining room area with an amazing view and another desk in the master bedroom that's perfect for those Zoom calls that require more privacy. There are two bedrooms on the main level: The master bedroom has a queen size bed, and the second bedroom has a full size bed. The front sitting area also has a full size sleeper sofa that accommodates two. For families, we can provide a Pack 'n Play with sheets and a booster seat. We also have a baby gate for the stairs and lots of games and toys to stay entertained. The kitchen includes a large refrigerator, electric oven/stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, wine fridge, air fryer, Keurig coffee maker, complimentary coffee, and all cooking essentials. Outside the back door is a ground-level deck with outdoor dining area, charcoal BBQ grill, a large backyard with Adirondack chairs, and direct access to the water. The backyard is ours; however, there are no fences, you may meet our neighbors and they may walk across our lawn to get to the water or to each others' houses. Parking is available in the driveway for three cars. Additional on-street parking is available in front of the house. Please do not park in front of our neighbors’ houses. Guest access You’ll have access to the entire house except for storage and utility areas in the basement. Your living space will include: the kitchen, dining room, living room, sitting area (with sleeper sofa), bathroom, two bedrooms, and (in the backyard) a deck patio with outdoor dining area, charcoal BBQ grill, lawn with Adirondack chairs, and water access. Note: If you plan on swimming or utilizing our kayaks and SUPs, you may want to bring water shoes, Crocs, etc. as our beach is rocky and you will find it easier to navigate with appropriate footwear. Other things to note This house was built by the host’s grandfather as a summer home in the 1950s, and was later converted into a year round home. It is much loved, and many family memories have been created here. We are very excited to share our family home with you and your family! If you plan on going in the water, we recommend you bring some shoes that can get wet (e.g. Crocs, water shoes, etc). You will find it easier to navigate the rocks on our beach while wearing appropriate footwear. Please note: The basement has a three-season porch that is currently being renovated for your future enjoyment. During your stay, you will have access to pass through this area in order to access the back yard/waterfront. There will be no construction or workers present during your stay. There is a pool deck on the property (the pool was destroyed by a storm) — during your stay, keep your eyes out for our resident groundhog, Ned Ryerson, who lives underneath it!
