Live like the locals! Stylish Backyard Cottage located in the heart of the Historic District 4 blocks to lively downtown restaurants, music, River events & 15 min. to Ft. Moore military base makes it the perfect place to land. Columbus Trade Center, Springer Opera, RiverCenter & Civic Center are 5 min from your Cottage. A restored 1850's historic Cottage welcomes you with a relaxed comfortable stay. The Cottage & offstreet parking is located 50ft behind the owners home in a safe secure space. The space Located behind the Main house, the 170 yr Cottage is a separate ultra private space consisting of one large room divided in the middle by a brick fireplace(non-working). There is NO stove/oven. Kitchen is set up with a toaster oven, new basic Refrigerator and Microwave with all the basics(dish ware, paper towels, and Keurig provided with coffee). The historic Cottage's original design and unique nature has been preserved including its small doorways into the newly tiled bathroom, shower and vanity that has been updated for a more comfortable stay. On the opposite side of the cottage is a firm King Bed with soft bedding perfect for 2 but a child or 3rd adult can easily squeeze in. Flat screen TV and chair seating complete the room. Although we are located near Victory Drive, the well travelled highway to Ft. Benning where road noise is a by product, the Cottage is an ultra private retreat where your only distraction might be the whistle of a train in the distance as it passes thru downtown. Note this is an urban city neighborhood with brick roads, joggers & civic/art center activities going on throughout and in surrounding downtown areas. Free outdoor Spring and Fall Concerts enrich our engaged community atmosphere. Hope you enjoy your time visiting the historic district as much as we do living here. Guest access Use the driveway off Broadway to enter and exit the property to parking behind our house and 3 steps to your cottage door. Roomy parking area for truck and large vehicles next to the cottage is a huge plus with our place. Overflow parking: Park on Broadway in front of house.The owners will be using the same area and you are also welcome to use the outdoor area in the backyard. Note: smoking is allowed anywhere outside but not inside the Cottage. Other things to note Got some time on your hands then head north right down the sidewalk toward downtown for all kinds of activities, food and see what’s going on especially Saturday mornings and by the Chattahoochee River. There is a beautiful 7 mile Riverwalk just waiting for you to enjoy. Check out the columbusite website for a look into the city activities!
