The airy Cabina has two twin size beds and two big opening windows with mosquito screen as well as A/C or Ceiling fan. It is set in a stunning tropical garden just a few steps from the pool and a short walk to the prestine beach of Playa Junquillal. The space Guacamaya Lodge has charming cabinas with individual bathrooms surrounding a large pool. This charming family styled lodge sits on a hill just a few minutes’ walk from the beach, in Playa Junquillal, Guanacaste; a province famed for sunshine. The room is surrounded by nature in the morning you wake up with the sound of the near ocean and the howling of the monkeys. It is a TV free environment. The Bar and Restaurant also offer a luscious view of every night's perfect sunset. Guest access Guests have access to Pool Restaurant Tennis court Volleyball court Other things to note TURTLE NESTING At Playa Junquillal beach the endangered Leather Back Turtles or the smaller Ridley Turtles lay their eggs. They seem to prefer well moon-light nights at high tide. Also a deep water approach leading to steep white sand beaches is favored. The females struggle to the beach, dig a hole with their flippers, lay their eggs, cover them up and then return to the ocean. Wear dark clothes, do not shine light into their eyes or otherwise disturb them. Only approach closer when the egg laying begins. Generally it takes about 3-4 hours for the whole process. SURF LESSONS: School of Stoke provides customized packages for beginner surfers with soft top surfboards included, intermediate surfers with organized transportation to various surf breaks, and for advanced surfers with video analysis and private coaching. Surfboards for intermediate surfers are not included, however if you wish to rent a board you can discuss dimension preferences and they will organize the board rental for you.
