Seas the Day The space As the name suggests, Seas the Day and book a stay at this quintessentially coastal Maine home - today! Located one block from the beach, your effortless enjoyment of the sun, sand, and surf is guaranteed. When you aren't busy looking for seashells, hop on the shuttle and explore the local hotspots. Wells boasts numerous eateries, shops, parks, and other entertainment options. Neighboring towns offer fantastic music, art, and social scenes. Comfortable and full of sunlight, Seas the Day welcomes you with open arms. Inside the French doors, settle down amidst the spacious living room's ample seating and large smart TV. When you get hungry, the full kitchen makes cooking a breeze with its full suite of stainless steel appliances, center island, and granite countertops. Dining with your loved ones is easy at the breakfast bar or sunroom. Charming nautical themes adorn each of the bedrooms. When additional sleeping arrangements are needed, the loft boasts multiple beds and even a work desk. The home's perks include a private washer/dryer and internet access. Back outside, fire up the gas grill and host a yummy cookout before hopping on the provided bikes for a ride to the sea. Here, you can watch the sunset's brilliant hues meet the water before heading home to indulge in s'mores over the firepit. Things to Know There are two air-conditioning mini-splits: one on the first floor living room and one on the second floor hall. The third floor has a window A/C unit. There are also two wall electric heating units: one on the second floor in the third bedroom and one on the first floor front porch/dining area. Guest access You'll enter via the front door using an electronic deadbolt. Enter your 10-digit access code, wait 3 seconds for the locking mechanism to disengage, then turn the deadbolt away from the frame. If the light flashes red, press the Schlage button to reset and try again. After 3 unsuccessful attempts, the system locks for 30 seconds. To lock the door when leaving, press the Schlage button and turn the deadbolt back toward the frame. Standard check-in is at 4pm and checkout is at 10am. Early check-in or late checkout may be available outside peak season (Labor Day through Memorial Day, excluding holidays) - you'll receive an offer by email or text if it's available for a fee. Other things to note The home is equipped with multiple A/C options: two wall-mounted mini-split units (one in the kitchen, one in the upstairs hallway) and a window unit on the third floor. There's also a wall-mounted electric heater in one second-floor bedroom, a heater in the front porch area, and a space heater in the loft. You'll find beach gear in the basement including multiple beach chairs and a beach caddy. A gas grill is available seasonally (May-September) on the patio; please clean it after each use and turn off the propane tank when done. A backup propane tank is on site. A fire pit is available seasonally but firewood is not provided. The washer and dryer are located in the basement. Southern Maine is beautiful but also home to seasonal insects and pests - mosquitoes, black flies, ticks, sand fleas, spiders, and others depending on the season. The home receives monthly pest control, though complete elimination isn't guaranteed. We recommend bringing bug spray for outdoor activities. Weekly lawn care is provided by a local service; the day of the week can vary based on their schedule. During winter, the driveway is plowed and the entrance is shoveled by a local service within 24 hours. A snow shovel and ice melt are provided at the home. Power outages can occur during severe weather, especially snow storms. The local team monitors Central Maine Power's outage updates and can provide information during your stay. Trip insurance is advisable if weather-related cancellation is a concern.
