For the past 5 decades, the island has been used as a family retreat and research center for marine biology students. Enjoy a 2,500ft white sandy beach, 2 smaller beaches & easy access to fabulous fishing, diving and boating. The perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this is a true tropical nature-lover's dream. From a wellness getaway with friends to adventurous family vacation - come create lasting memories on Hummingbird Cay. This is a unique experience on a remote, fully private island. The accommodations have full power, internet, air conditioning, and basic amenities. Enjoy the quintessential Bahamian lifestyle with a private chef and housekeeping for an extra fee. You can also choose to have your groceries already purchased for your stay (extra charge) or you can stop by the store before boarding the boat and pick up your own provisions. Food is always accessible and can be brought to the island at any time. The island boasts a 2,500-foot white sandy beach, two smaller beaches and easy access to fabulous fishing, diving and boating. There are 5 individual dwellings of varying size, an industrial-sized kitchen, a communal gathering space, a swimming pool, large deck with beautiful sunsets and an expansive array of tropical flora and fauna. Wondering how you'll find your way? Please don't worry about the logistics. After clearing customs at GGT (Georgetown, Exuma) airport, your group will meet your driver. He will drive you 15 minutes to a dock, where you will board a boat. You will then take a 15-20 minute boat ride to the Cay. Once you arrive, our island staff will greet you. They will handle your luggage and show you to the White and Pink houses. Our staff will ensure your arrival to the island is a smooth one. There are 2 Main dwellings on the island available for rent: WHITE HOUSE: 2 Bedrooms with queen-sized beds and 2 full bathrooms PINK HOUSE: 2 Bedrooms (configurated to fit your needs) and 2 full bathrooms The entire island is yours during the stay. We do have a small staff (4) that live on the island and are there to assist with any needs and guide you around (if requested) to ensure a safe, and fun visit. Bikes are available for use during the stay for trips to and from the beach. Additional third-party excursions can be booked for an additional rate – beginning at $100 - Day boat trips / snorkeling - Fishing (rod or spear) - Watersports - Sunrise Yoga - Mainland excursions There are 2 live-in caretakers on the island, and a property manager will be available to assist upon request, if necessary. Boats are available for recreational use and trips to and from Georgetown, for an additional fee. The length of the island is walkable, as well. Worried about logistics? Please don’t be – we have a small staff on the island that will assist with getting you to and from the mainland, advanced provisions and third-party activity bookings during your stay. The staff live in staff quarters, away from the main homes, and is there as a resource for you during your stay. There are First Aid kits on site for any minor injuries. A boat ride to the mainland will give you quick access to any other medical facilities you may require.
