Enjoy the vista from comfortable seating in the airy lounge or light the wood burner and curl up in the cosy snug. The stylish black and white kitchen has a large dining table and French doors opening onto the pretty gardens. Upstairs, you’ll find a family bathroom and four inviting bedrooms: two doubles, a twin and a roomy super-king-size, which can be made up as a twin. Outside, the gardens are a lovely spot to drink in the scenery, with outdoor furniture, sun loungers and a brick BBQ. Pubs, restaurants and a shop are just a mile away, while the intriguing Symonds Maze and beautiful Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo are within half a mile. You can cross the Wye on a foot ferry to Symonds Yat East and climb the famous 120-metre-high rock that offers even more spectacular views. Hire a canoe or kayak for family fun, take a boat cruise down the river and explore the splendid network of family walking and cycling trails in the ancient woodlands of the Forest of Dean (6 miles).
