Double your Lake Life with lakefront access to both the majestic Lake Cushman AND the peaceful Lake Standstill. This chalet's bright interior will act as the perfect home base to launch your Olympic National Forest adventures. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to make a gourmet meal, or grill up some freshly caught trout. End the day with a cocktail on the deck while you soak in the views. The space WINTER WARNING: We sometimes get snow during the winter months, but it usually doesn't stick around. If you book your trip in the winter and there is snow, we cannot guarantee you will have a clear path in. The road to the home is usually plowed, but that is not guaranteed based on timing of plows. The 400ft driveway will NOT be plowed and you may need to shovel the driveway to gain access. There is a snow shovel in entry hallway. Please monitor the weather and reach out with questions and concerns. We will cancel your reservation with no penalty if you don't feel comfortable with the conditions. SLEEPING: This roomy 3 bedroom Chalet sleeps eight. On the main level there are 2 bedrooms: one with a king and the other has a full over full bunk. There is one full bathroom on this floor and you are welcome to use the washer/dryer set in the closet; laundry detergent is under the sink. The second floor is a loft with one king bed, its own sitting area and another full bathroom. The closet in the bunk room on the main floor stores a wide variety recreational items for water/outdoor activities. Choose from various floaties, a blow up kayak, and two sets of snorkels/face masks for kids. A small electric pump is provided. There are also four life vests (varying in size), frisbees for the local disc golf course down the road, a picnic basket, and two small Playmate coolers. In the entry hall closet there area two camping chairs. Please utilize any items at your leisure. KITCHEN: The kitchen is equipped with a wide array of basic necessities including a blender, toaster oven, griddle, air fryer, handheld mixer, large bowls, cooking trays (including a pizza pan), stainless steel cookware, and plenty of utensils. There is an ice maker in the freezer to keep all of your cocktails cold. Outside on the deck you will find a gas grill and the necessary cooking utensils to cook up the day's catch. Please reference the book located in the kitchen on how to use/care for the grill. COFFEE: We provide various options for our guests. -12 cup Cuisinart drip coffee maker - French Press - Coffee grinder OUTDOOR: - Two private decks: Enjoy the sunrise on the lower deck facing Lake Standstill. The sunset and views of Lake Cushman can be enjoyed from the main upper deck. - Hot tub: Covered private hot tub can hold up to 6 people. - Gas grill - Patio seating ADDITIONAL AMENITIES: - Gorgeous lake views - Wood stove - Board games - Two TVs & fiber optic internet (no local stations) - Access via a path to Lake Cushman. Unfortunately we do not have a dock for Lake Cushman, but you can walk down to the public dock below the house. - Access via steps to Lake Standstill which has a small floating dock. Feel free to utilize the paddle boat that we have docked there. Please leave it stored upside down on the dock. - 5 min drive to private community park with lake access, dock, and boat launch. You will need to hang the guest pass (located in book) in your car. - 5 minute drive to 9 hole golf course - 10 minute drive to Hoodsport - 20 minute drive to Hamma Hamma (visit the famous Hama Hama Oyster Saloon/farm store while you take in the view of Hood Canal) - 20 min drive to Staircase (Olympic National Park) PETS: Our property is pet friendly and we love hosting furry family members. We ask that you please not let them on the furniture. If you think this is going to be a challenge, you can bring a clean sheet/blanket to lay over the furniture. If there is excessive dog hair, stains or damage to the linens or furniture, we will need to assess an additional cleaning fee. - Please clean up all poop outside. - Dogs must be on a leash at all times. - Not all hikes are pet friendly so please check trail guides. PARKING: We have room for 3-4 cars on the property; street parking is not allowed. Guest access You are free to use all 1.5 acres which provides lake access to both lakes. We have a dock on Lake Standstill . You may also use the paddle boat that is stored there. When finished using, please pull onto the dock or shore, taking care of the rudder on the bottom of the boat. Boat should be stored upside down. You are within walking distance to a public dock on Lake Cushman, which is directly below the house.
