Local villages of Sandycove, Monkstown & Dalkey are a walking distance and boast an array of amazing restaurants, shops and gourmet retailers. Dart trainsrop to the center of Dublin is near the house. Access to the beautiful county of Wicklow and Kildare are on our doorstep with M50 10 min drive away. The space Sandycove is one of the houses on an attractive Georgian terrace, built in 1820s. Location wise it is a 3 min walk to the vibrant Glasthule village famous for its good restaurants - like Cavistons and Rasam - and gourmet organic shopping. Seafront is 2 min away, it is ideal for walks and swimming all year round with two coves and legendary 40 Foot swimming spot being right there. The village of Dalkey is just up the road, 15 min walk. Sandycove Tennis Club is 5 min away on foot, a couple of good golf clubs are just a short drive away and 3 yauht clubs are in a nearby town of Dun Laoighaire. The house was completely renovated in 2020-2021 to a very high standard. Front of house - tall hedge, electric gates, gravel, plants and shrubs. Parking for 2 cars. The front of the house enjoys sunshine in the mornings and evenings. There are 2 separate entrances - main front door is on top of the granite front steps, the other door is below steps and it leads to the ground floor level. Main ground floor - hallway with the original staircase and rooms opening on both sides. Kitchen is to the left, there is a Crittal window installed between the hallway and the kitchen. Main living room is to the rights - it has an open fire original marble fireplace. Gervasoni and B&B Italia couch and armchairs are arranged around a large coffee table. There is also a large dining table with a bench seating and wishbone chairs. Windows are overlooking the back and front garden. Original shutters are working. Kitchen is by Neptune. There is a long Island in the center with a seating for 4. Breakfast pantry houses toaster and coffee machine. Again windows are overlooking back and front garden. Kitchen gets very sunny and has a view over the gentele period villas and sea beyond. At the back of the hallway is a sun room with an informal dining table and banquet seating. There is a small kitchenette and a wine fridge. Double doors to the garden. This is a very sunny spot, ideal for a breakfast or an informal meal. The windows are on all 3 sides and they can be thrown open if required. Midway up the staircase is a door to the terrace overlooking the back garden. It is a real sun trap being South-East facing. Garden furniture and a big umbrella. Upstairs is the main bedroom overlooking the back garden, it is papered in Fornasetti wallpaper and has a 1800x2000 bed, original fireplace is not in use currently. You get to the bedroom by walking through a generous dressing room with wardrobes on both sides and a view of the sea out of the window. There is a rowing machine here at the moment and it could be left in situ if requested. To the left of the landing is a cosy kids bedroom with plenty of toys and books on the shelves and a bunk bed with a trundle bed underneath. This room overlooks the back garden. There is a main bathroom here as well with a bath overlooking the bay through a window, double basins, a walk in shower and a WC. Original fireplace is here as well, it is not in use. Floor heating regulated by a thermostat. Marble hexagonal tiles on the floor and hand made zellige tiles on walls. Straight through the landing is the office, again enjoying sea views. Throughout the main ground floor and top floor - all original doors, windows, shutters, floors and cornices are restored. From the main floor there is a staircase leading to the lower ground floor. It is a bit different from the rest of the house. The floor is herringbone brik slips and wide oak planks. There are 2 guest bedrooms here, one of which is facing the front garden and the other the back garden and has a set of double doors to access a private sunny patio. Both rooms have king double beds. Wardrobes for storage. There is also a small bootroom in the hallway with pegs and hanging/ shelving behind doors. Then there is a door to the family room/ TV room that also has a set of double doors leading in to the back garden. It is a cosy room with a wood burning stove, another Fornasetti wallpaper on some of the walls and some exposed bricks on the other. Generous B&B Italia Tufty times couch is facing a TV. Handmade Tisca rug is on the floor. There is shelving with games and toys to enjoy for both kids and adults alike. In the end of the hall is another bathroom with a large walk in shower, basin and WC. Underfloor heating on the floor, handmade zelling tiles on walls and red brick slip tiles on the floor. 2 windows overlooking the back patio. Garden is mature and South-East facing, same as upstairs terrace. Trees, shrubs, plants, herbs and flowers are lovingly maintained. There is a pergola area with a Weber grill and round dining table and chairs. The garden also has sun loungers on the lower private terrace and seating right outside the sunroom doors. Cast-iron Arroll radiators throughout the property, gas fired heating organized into 3 separate zones controlled through the app. Alarm system connected to a monitoring company. Water filter. Electric gate. Guest access Guests are welcome to use the full house and garden. Other things to note The property sleeps 6 adults and 2 children.
