"Throni" nestles among the hills of Tselentata, a traditional hamlet with exceptional architectural features, which belongs to the Municipality of Fiscardo. Throni gets the name from the throne of the queen Fiscarda in Larni, a monument carved out of the natural rock, possibly used in the past for religious purposes. Throni is built of stone, just like the simple, Doric dwellings of Erissos with the angled roofs and narrow windows. The space Warm grey colour, reminiscent of the trunks of the old olives trees, and touches of blue-green like the hidden underground lakes, it is truly the consummate island home. The feel of the cool concrete floors and pebbled garden, the simple architectural lines, the spacious areas all contribute to a peaceful and dreamlike environment for visitors. The open-plan living and dining area has doors opening onto the swimming pool, and boasts wooden ceilings, elegant comfortable furniture and atmospheric lighting. An impressive collection of art-work and sculptures reinforce the uniqueness of this house, transforming it into a living exhibition. The kitchen is also found in this area and aspiring chefs will be amazed by how well-equipped and well-appointed it is. The twin bedroom, with touches of turquoise and cobalt blue, boasts an ensuite bathroom and panoramic view of the pool. A polished concrete staircase leads you up to the master bedroom with the beautiful double bed, a balcony nestling among the branches of the olive tree and a bathroom - all with a stunning view of the sea. Facing north-east, the villa is caressed by cooling breezes and along with the impressive views of the Venetian Lighthouse in Fiscardo, Odysseus's Ithaka and the surrounding islands, promises unforgettable moments of relaxation and day-dreaming in the garden by the pool. The giant olive tree generously offers shade for those lunchtime get-togethers at the large mosaic table, with the scent of lavender and rosemary filling the air. The villa is surrounded by cobbled streets and gardens. Other things to note Everywhere there are paths through the slopes covered in gorse and cypress trees which lead to magical beaches. Just a short drive away is Fiscardo, the ancient harbour of Panormos with cosmopolitan atmosphere, which draws the most beautiful yachts and sailing boats in the Mediterranean, along with the occasional celebrity - all attracted by the wonderful shops and great quality eating establishments. Whenever there is a full moon, the village is enchanting. Take a shady stroll among the pines to the Venetian lighthouse with breath-taking view of the harbour. The nearby beaches are renowned for their crystal-clear waters - Emblisi, Foki, Dafnoudi, Kimilia, Alaties - and further afield, Myrtos, which - along with the underground lake of Melissani - offer the most impressive and exquisite pictures of Kefalonia. Thousands of different shades of blue all contribute to the most stunning watercolour. "Throni" was designed and decorated by its owner, an interior designer who is responsible for many of the most beautiful residences on the island.
