Welcome to Chalet Siena! Just a minute's walk from Lake Thun, our chalet offers the perfect retreat for any season. In winter, you can experience the magic of the snowy mountains here – ski resorts are quickly accessible, and the chalet is an ideal place for a festive Christmas ambiance. In summer, the lake invites you to cool off, paddle tours and relax. Parking: A private parking space is available, and several public parking spaces are right next to it. The space Our previous guests have especially appreciated the fantastic views, the furnishings and the quiet lakeside location. It is a perfect place for families or friends to explore the Lake Thun region and the surrounding mountains. The chalet offers 2 tastefully decorated bedrooms and magnificent direct views of Lake Thun and the mountains. The decor was designed with a lot of love for detail, using wood, stone and elegant furniture to offer you the highest possible comfort. Important note: From parking to chalet you have to walk up about 15 steps and a slope. If you are traveling with older people or small children, please note this. We don't have an elevator! However, we are very happy to help you with the luggage at check-in and check-out. Once you get to the top, you'll be rewarded with an amazing view – and the cheese fondue is more than worth it! 😉 Guest access Guests are allowed to use the chalet on their own. Other things to note Questions & Answers To the chalet: What is the decor of the chalet? The chalet was originally purchased for private use with our family and friends and is accordingly comfortably furnished. It has all the amenities you can expect from a cozy home and offers the perfect retreat in the Swiss Alps. How many people can stay at the chalet? The chalet is designed for 4 adults and 1-2 children. We also provide an extra bed if needed, so that a total of up to 5-6 adults can be accommodated. What is the layout of the chalet? Ground floor: entrance hall, one bedroom with private shower, guest toilet, a kitchen with bar and a dining area as well as a cozy living room with fireplace. Upper floor: Master bedroom with en-suite bathroom Jaccuzi, toilet and a shower Lower floor: washing machine and dryer. What is the bedroom situation like? Ground floor: One bedroom with king size bed and a gallery for children with cot Upper floor: Main bedroom with king size bed How are the bathroom situations? There are a total of 2 bathrooms, one en-suite in the master bedroom and the other bedroom has its own shower How is the kitchen equipped? The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need: cutlery, crockery, coffee maker, kettle, raclette machine and fondue pot. Basic spices and kitchen utensils are also available. Does it have air conditioning? Yes. Air conditioning provides pleasant freshness in summer when temperatures rise. Is it warm in winter? Yes. In winter, cozy warmth awaits you thanks to the efficient underfloor heating and central heating – perfect for cold days. The fireplace creates even more coziness, which creates a warm and cozy ambiance. Do you have hot water? Yes. A boiler in the chalet reliably provides hot water. Although not hot tub and shower should be used at the same time so that the hot water is not consumed too quickly, but for 4-6 people this is usually completely sufficient. Do you have a washing machine? Yes we have a washing machine on the lower floor. How much towels per person: For short stays of 2-3 days, our guests each have 1 set, this includes 2 wipes per person. For longer stays, our guests get 2 sets per person. How we washed the laundry? Our wipes and linens are thoroughly cleaned in a professional laundry. At a washing temperature of 90°C, they are hygienically washed, disinfected and carefully ironed. Each piece is also subjected to an accurate quality control to ensure it is fresh and immaculate Does it have animals or insects? No worries – we don't have dangerous or poisonous animals! The chalet is in the middle of nature, surrounded by trees, and it can happen every now and then that a small bug or a tiny spider looks in, looking for a cozy spot. But don't worry, these little visitors are absolutely harmless! As they say, spiders only choose clean houses. Around the chalet you may even be lucky enough to see curious little lizards. They are completely harmless, enchanting to look at and bring a bit of life to the surrounding area! Location & access What is the region around Gunten and Lake Thun? Lake Thun: The lake invites you to swim, go boating and relaxing walks along the waterfront. During the summer, Lake Thun is also ideal for sailing, kayaking and other water sports. Hiking trails: Gunten is a great starting point for hikes and walks in the surrounding mountains and forests. The well-known hiking trail towards Sigriswil leads over the spectacular panoramic bridge, which offers breathtaking views. Ski/ snowboard: Near Gunten, on Lake Thun, there are some smaller, family-friendly ski resorts ideal for a day trip: 1 ski resort Schwanden-Sigriswil: Located above Lake Thun, this small ski resort offers well groomed slopes overlooking the lake. There are three ski lifts and two slopes that are also good for beginners and families. There is also a toboggan run and an illuminated night trail. 2 Beatenberg-Niederhorn: Another ski resort nearby that is best known for its panorama. There are ski slopes and opportunities for winter hiking and sledding. Thermal baths: In Gunten itself, there is the Hotel Panorama with a public spa area that provides relaxation. Close to attractions: The region offers a short distance to cultural and natural highlights. Thun with its historic old town and Interlaken, the gateway to the Jungfrau region, can be reached in a few minutes by car or public transport. What is the location of the chalet? The chalet is ideally located in Gunten, steps from the lake. You can explore the region either by foot or by car. The cities of Thun ( 15 minutes) and Interlaken (15 minutes) are easily accessible, as are numerous hiking trails and ski resorts. Does the chalet get a lot of sunshine? Thanks to the southern location of the chalet, it enjoys plenty of sunshine all year round, especially in the afternoon hours. What is the view like? From the balcony and terrace of the chalet you have a magnificent, unobstructed view of Lake Thun and the surrounding mountains. How to get to the chalet? By car: there is a parking place right in front of the chalet. By train: The closest train station is in Thun. From there you can either take the bus to Gunten or take a taxi. What is there to do in the region? The region offers an abundance of activities in summer and winter. In summer you can swim, sail, hike or explore the picturesque villages. In winter, the ski resorts of the Jungfrau region are easy to reach. The nearby cities of Thun and Interlaken also offer numerous attractions and shopping.
