Commonly known as the “Suspiro del Moro,” this is the spot where Boabdil, Muslim king of the Nasrid dynasty, paused to take one last look at Granada and the Alhambra after being exiled by the Catholic Monarchs. The water flows from the Sierra de la Alfaguara to the Albaicín and the Alhambra through a hydraulic infrastructure built between 1013 and 1090, known as the Aynadamar Canal—meaning “Canal of Tears.” Near its source at the Fuente Grande, water emerges in small bubbles reminiscent of tears, perhaps mourning the death of a poet. Each floor is fully independent and can be accessed both internally and externally if desired. Guest access The pool is only available from June to September.
