One-of-a-kind architectural masterpiece in San Diego north county. Privately set on 4 acres in the rolling hills of wine and avocado country, the home offers a chef's kitchen and panoramic views from every room. Immaculate landscaped grounds, lap pool and spa heated free*, outdoor kitchen and dining. Enjoy sweeping sunrises and sunsets and fresh citrus fruit. Golf and hiking in Fallbrook, 20 minutes to Temecula, 30 to Oceanside and 45 to La Jolla or San Diego. Small events allowed. The space This home is not just a stay; it is a lifestyle. You will not want to leave. Designed in 1987 by Colbourn Currier Noll architects of San Diego, it is reminiscent of 17th-19th century French chateau design, with bilateral symmetry, a front courtyard, and large double French doors. The 3800 sq ft single level plan provides huge open space perfect for entertaining and family gatherings. It is equally suitable as a private spacious luxury retreat for 2–8 adults. The house has 7 ready-made beds, including a 5-star-hotel equivalent pillow top King, luxury-grade foam by Jerome's and Sealy Posturepedic mattresses. It also has 4 Cordaroy bean bags which unzip into surprisingly comfortable queen-size beds. Extra bedsheets for these mattresses are provided. The house is most comfortable for groups up to 12 adults. Although we can accommodate 16 people, that is suggested for families with children and guests comfortable sharing space. The indoor dining table can accommodate 12 with a bench. Additional chairs can be used from the small bedroom and garage, and with bar seating we can accommodate 16. The grounds showcase purposeful landscape architecture and design, from the rose garden in the courtyard , tropical palm forest by the pool, to the desert garden and orchard in the back. The patio features a full outdoor kitchen, grill, and entertainment space with an outdoor ping pong table. Patio dining seats 12, additional space can be found by the loungers and sofa set underneath the wisteria. 85" and 65" Samsung Frame TV's are located in the living room and second bedroom, respectively. We do not have cable TV but provide Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, HBO Max and Amazon Prime Video, signed in and ready to use. The house and grounds can be set up to accommodate small private events, such as retreats, intimate weddings and rehearsals. Currently, we suggest a limit of 30 people for outdoor dining (front yard), and absolutely no more than 60 for a ceremony (back yard), and 12 vehicles maximum because parking is limited. Please take care not to damage grounds, landscaping and irrigation. Guests are responsible for any additional furniture (chairs, tables), and all cleanup for the event. Our co-hosts are *not* equipped to clean after large events. Event trash must be disposed by guests and not left on premises. Depending on the use, we charge an event fee of $50 per person above the first 30 guests. Please contact hosts with specific event plans. Pool heating is provided for free by our new electric heat pump from March to October. Base temperatures range from 70 to 85 degrees depending on season and prior guest use. To heat in winter or beyond the base temperature, we must use propane which is unfortunately expensive for a 35,000 gallon pool. We charge $200 for every 5 degree change in temperature (for example, $400 to raise the temperature from 70 to 80 degrees); this must be requested in advance of arrival. Heating the spa is free of charge. Guests are responsible for operation of pool controls and hosts can make no guarantees for pool temperature or equipment use. Guest access The whole villa is yours to enjoy. The laundry room pantry closet has cleaning supplies and other utilities that we have made available to guests, if needed. We request that guests not tamper with the pool equipment behind the gray painted fence near the lanai, except to turn on the water feature as instructed on the signs. Instead, the pool control panel and instructions can be outside the master bathroom door. Other things to note Important advisories -- PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING -- - LIABILITY WAIVER - By booking the home, all guests and participants in events must agree to waive all liability for injury related to use of equipment including but not limited to pool, spa, grill, kitchen and gas appliances; and assume all risk for use of facilities. If this is not agreeable, the booking is void, the organizing guest must cancel immediately and notify the host. - GENERAL RULES - - Guests should read the full house rules and ground rules before booking, found in the listing details. Copies are printed inside the house in the dining area. - Please DO NOT park on the paved area on Chandelle Ln. It is a dedicated fire lane. However, you *may* park in the 3--4 spaces on the grass next to it. - We request that guests remove shoes on carpets, ensure feet are clean using garden hoses before entering, and do not move heavy furniture. - Smoking, vaping, drugs (including marijuana) and excess use of alcohol are strictly prohibited. In particular, smoking outside can pose severe fire hazard. Absolutely no fireworks, fire pits, or anything flammable on grounds, especially in the back yard. - We strictly prohibit loud parties, excess noise over 70 Db (60 Db after 9 PM), and all outdoor music unless specifically allowed by the host. If a neighbor complains, you will be asked to stop. On repeat complaints you will be asked to leave, by hosts or police if necessary. All deposits, fees and booking costs will be forfeit. Tampering with the noise monitor is also grounds for removal. - For last-minute bookings, newer guests with no reviews, larger groups, and groups with pets or pool heating needs, the host may request a $2000 up-front incidentals deposit, separate from booking fees and the standard AirBnb security deposit, to be paid through the AirBnb resolution center. This will be refunded in full after checkout if there are no issues, minus pool costs and incidentals. - The top bunk of the bunk bed should be used at guests' own risk, and by only one person, maximum weight 180 lbs. Please use the provided rail guard. - Pool heating is provided for free by our new electric heat pump from March to October, and at host discretion November-February depending on winter booking (please inquire). Base temperatures range from 75 to 85 degrees depending on season and prior guest use. To heat in winter or beyond the electric heat pump base temperature, we must use propane which is unfortunately expensive for a 35,000 gallon pool. - Please inquire before bringing pets. Small dogs are allowed, cats discouraged due to the large amount of carpet. We request that owners clean up after their pets themselves, both waste and any hair. Additional cleaning due to pet-related mess may be deducted from the security deposit, as warranted and at the discretion of the host and co-host. - Small private events such as yoga retreats, professional gatherings, vow renewals, small weddings and receptions are allowed. We generally do not charge extra for events, except in cases of high impact (moving furniture, loud music, or over 30 guests). Generally we charge $50 per person beyond 30 people for special events, but this may be waived depending on use. We request that events abide by noise rules and respect that this is a residential neighborhood. Please inquire if you are planning an event. - For events, we request guests bring their own additional seating and tables, and use either the flat area of the back yard or the area under the wisteria pergola (where the ping pong table currently is). Parking is limited to 12 vehicles total. Please do not park on the pavement on Chandelle Ln, park on the grass instead or carefully along the private driveway. Please take care not to damage irrigation systems, and put everything back the way you found it when finished. Most importantly, ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING OUTDOORS DURING EVENTS -- especially no smoking in the back yard. NO FIREWORKS, NO FIRES, and NO FLAMMABLE DEVICES AT ALL. Guests are responsible for all cleanup (garbage, temporary furniture, etc.) for the event; our co-hosts are *not* equipped to clean after large events. Event trash must be disposed by guests and not left on premises. PEST DISCLAIMERS: This is a large home in the countryside. There will occasionally be a few rough edges, bugs, and wildlife. We have regular pest service and aim to provide every modern convenience possible, but pests can and will make their way into the house and on the grounds. Hosts cannot guarantee a 100% pest-free experience at all times. Any refunds will be at our and the platform's discretion. Please be reasonable and do not judge us too harshly.
