Description

Loft apartment in downtown Juneau with sweeping views of Gastineau Channel and the mountains of Douglas Island. An open floor plan, high ceilings, 100-year old wood beams, a spiral staircase to the upstairs loft, granite counters and tile in the bathroom all add to the ambience of this centrally located apartment. Washer and dryer in the unit. The space Juneau's historic Hellenthal Building was built in 1916 during Juneau's mining heyday. The entire building underwent a two-year renovation in 2017-2018. The upstairs loft is divided by 100-year-old beams, and is accessible by two separate staircases. The spiral staircase leads to an area for sitting and relaxing and includes a lounger sofa that folds down into a queen bed. A second set of stairs leads up to an open bedroom with a king bed. Downstairs is an open bedroom area with a queen bed. Additionally, the sofa in the living room opens into a queen bed. Front-loading washer and dryer are located in the bathroom. Guest access A keypad allows entry to the common hallways, with a separate keypad entrance to the apartment. Other things to note This apartment is up one flight of stairs, and also has stairs inside the apartment to the loft. While children are welcome, there are fully opening upstairs windows that might not be safe for toddlers or young children. Electrical outlets not child-proofed. There are stairs inside the apartment. Parents should use their discretion. Like most of downtown Juneau, we do not have our own parking spaces. Most of our guests with cars use the convenient city-owned parking lot at 2nd and North Franklin, on the uphill side of the Baranof Hotel. This lot costs 75 cents per hour during business hours and is free evenings and weekends. Overnight parking is allowed during the summer months. The entire apartment has an open layout. There are no enclosed bedrooms with closing doors. This place might not be suitable for groups in which individuals require privacy. Registration Details CBJ1000332
