Down the coast, visitors will find the town of Monopoli (15 minutes), one of Italy’s hidden gems. Known for its lively bars and nightlife, the town’s cathedral and the Castello di Carlo are also worth visiting. 
Away from the sea, Alberobello, (35 minutes) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as one of the centres of Italy’s Slow Food Movement. The town is a must-see.
