Own Island in Lake Lohja

PRIVATE ISLAND on lake Lohjanjärvi Enjoy breathtaking nature on your own private island on lake Lohjanjärvi. Brand new Honkarakenne log Villa and lakeside sauna are waiting for you. The whole island is yours during your stay and the island is only 95km /1 hour drive from Helsinki. The space ____________________ The Villa interior is modern Scandinavian design. From the huge floor to ceiling windows you have fantastic views to the lake and sunset. Kitchen is fully equipped with oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwashing machine. We have also invested in Marimekko tableware so you can enjoy a beautiful setting while dining. In the terrace you have gas barbeque grill. The island has electricity and even wifi. Reasonable amount of fire wood is included. In the lakeside sauna you can enjoy the heat and flames from wood burning IKI Kiuas sauna stove and "sauna and lake swimming" experience. The water is heated in the sauna in the traditional “pata” / large pot. Please note that there is no separate shower but the bathing takes place in the sauna. The beach is quite steep so you need to watch out with small children. Bedrooms: In the Villa there is master bedroom with Unikulma double bed. In the back of the living room there is sofa bed and the space has some privacy with curtains. In the half high loft there is twin bed and also few additional mattresses. In the sauna cabin there is additional bedroom with double bed. Thus, the island can accommodate even 6 + 4 persons. Please bring your own linen and towels. We can also provide you one with extra cost. The island is perfect for families and couples seeking their moment in the private paradise. Please note that in the lake all noise carried very far and respecting the neighbors is necessary. Thus, the island is not rented for party purposes. Guest access ____________________ You can use our small electric motor boat to get to the island or even row. The distance from the main land is only 650m. It will take approx. 10-15min max to reach the island from the small harbour where you can park your car. The island is also just next to a boat channel so it is possible to anchor also your own bigger boat. The place is not suitable for people with mobility impairments because of the terrain and the boat trip. NOTE - IMPORTANT! The host will take you to the island and instruct you how to use the boat. During your visit you operate the boat by yourself, as you truly are the only ones on the island :). For security reasons you also need to know how to row. Other things to note ____________________ Even though the island facilites are modern, we try to keep it ecological and respecting the classical characters of Finnish “mökki”. So the place is a mix of luxury and ecology. ---------------- The tap WATER is coming from the lake and it is purified with reverse osmosis cleaning system. The system purifies certain amount of water per hour and the water is safe to drink. We also supply you with bottled water to drink, just in case. ---------------- The TOILET is “traditional Finnish cabin toilet” in the country yard, so called “huussi”. It is Eco-toilet, producing completely biodegradable waste / compost. ---------------- PETs need to be mentioned and agreed on the reservation.
