Hillside Cottage

Nestled between grassland and trees, this guest house is the perfect place to soak up New Zealand’s beautiful nature. Relax watching the birds and scenic hills or get hands on with the family pets. You can feed the alpacas or visit the chicken to collect some eggs. There is always a spare paddock for horsey people visiting the area and plenty of room to park a trailer or boat. We are located 10 min away from Hobbiton, Karapiro lake and 15 min from Cambridge town centre. The space This generously spaced cottage has 2 levels. Upstairs, you can relax on the balcony and enjoy the view of the surrounding hills. The bedroom makes up the remaining upper space with a king size bed, drawers, hangers, a full size mirror and fly screens to ensure a comfortable breeze at night if desired. Downstairs you will find the remaining amenities such as the kitchen, bathroom and living areas. The kitchen table is conveniently positioned to give view of the paddocks while a fully kitted out kitchen will make living self sufficiently easy during your stay. In the living room, the couch pulls out to an additional bed if required and you will have access to Netflix on the 52 inch smart TV. The bathroom comprises of a toilet, basin and tiled walk in shower. Plants are positioned throughout the cottage contributing to a cosy feel and fresh home grown produce will be shared happily if available. Guest access We welcome all visitors to take a stroll through the property, however ask to respect the privacy of our house and garden (all fenced off for simplicity). Other things to note Please note that cell phone coverage is not available for all providers (spark tends to work best here) and wifi is available. Water - the tap water is safe to drink and filtered (twice).
