Double room with small double bed (120cm wide)
Double room with small double bed (120cm wide)
Description
This is a spacious, comfortable double bedroom with a small double bed (4' / 120cm wide). It's a warm and pleasant space with wood and original features. A lovely central location from which to enjoy Edinburgh. It is cheaper than my other spare room because it is has some furniture containing work equipment. So I might occasionally ask permission to access those things. If you are not okay with that then I understand completely but this is not a suitable room for you. The space THE FLAT: Warm, friendly and relaxed environment. That's the most important thing about this flat; how well those of us here get along. Mostly it's quiet, my place away from the rest of the world - I like reading, cooking and watching movies. It's the kind of place where you check if anyone needs to use the bathroom before jumping in the shower for 20 minutes. If that sounds like you please read on... Please note that I have a gorgeous British Shorthair cat called Parrot. She likes to spend time in this room but can be kept out if you prefer. However she may try to sneak past you if you aren't paying attention and my flat probably isn't suitable for people with a cat allergy. This is a carefully modernised traditional Edinburgh tenement flat built in the 19th century. Its architecture, decor and comfort combine to make this a very homely flat. It boasts many original features including large windows, high ceilings, cornicing, wood panelling and solid wood floors. It also offers modern creature comforts such as temperature-controlled gas central heating, unlimited hot water, double glazing, modern fitted kitchen and good quality furniture. I own a few flats and look after a few others for friends but this is a real Edinburgh home, it's my home. I bought it 20 years ago and have put a lot of time and effort into making it feel right. And because it's my home it comes with some nice features including premium kitchen equipment (Miele, NEFF, Dualit, etc.) and a marble bathroom. This is a lovely space to spend time in and the perfect base from which to explore the city from. Easter Road is walking distance (about a mile) from Princes Street, Waverley Train Station and the Royal Mile. It is the closest point to town with free on-street parking so ideal if you're travelling by car. If you don't fancy walking then the award-winning local bus service runs routes right past the flat direct to both the new town and the old town. WHAT YOU GET: This listing is for the the Chaos Room which isn't really chaotic but it is where I keep some work equipment that I can't store anywhere else. It has a pleasant ambience with wooden floor and panelling around the double window. It also has a good quality pocket sprung small double bed which is very comfortable. The room is automatically kept at a comfortable 19° (at ankle height so really 20°) in the morning and evening, 18° (really 19°) during the day and 17° (really 18°) overnight.
