Charming 1860's home on 400 ac farm

Farm house recently refurbished with the charm of wood walls/ceilings/floors -- some painted, most natural. Old House sits in the middle of a 400 ac working farm -- 2/3 woods, 1/3 pasture -- w views, streams & miles of lovely walking trails. The space The farm has a rich history dating back to a Patent Deed signed by Governor James Monroe in 1800 (before he became President). The history has been researched and documented in a 120 page document with pictures and maps -- showing the evolution of the land and the families who have lived here -- James and Sarah Lawrence, Dr Edgar Lawrence, Put Simpkins, Miss Jane, Miss Molly ...... The original part of the house was built in the 1860's, with a large two-story addition in 1912. The house was entirely renovated and upgraded in 2013 to meet modern building code standards. Unfortunately, insurance does not allow the old stone fireplaces to be used. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house, and to the entire farm. The barn includes pickle ball court, basketball hoop, and ping pong table. The Old House includes Wi-Fi with about 1 Gigabyte per sec download speed. We are at an elevation of about 2,500 feet, generally with mountain breezes. The relatively cool nights, screened storm windows and cross ventilation in each room typically makes A/C unnecessary -- but we have fans and A/C just in case. Other things to note The farm is very quiet and serene. It is located in Floyd County on a gravel road a few minutes off a main road. It is about 20 minutes from I-81 and Christiansburg, 30 minutes from Blacksburg and VTech (ask for fastest directions), 45 minutes to Roanoke, and 18 minutes to the Town of Floyd. The nightly rate is based on a party of up to two people. Additional guests (over the age of two) are charged at the rate of $17 per night per guest.
