Well appointed to accommodate guests of all ages with plenty of gathering spaces inside and out. Come stay with us! The space NOTE: The Hunter Synagogue is a 3 min drive away or an easy 20 min walk. Clearview Mountain House is located in the beautiful Colonel's Chair area of Hunter Mountain and steps to the Hunter North ski trails and lifts. Skip the long lines and take a 10min walk to the Northern Express chair lifts and access the popular Belt Parkway trail and other lifts. Guests preferring to drive are only 3 minutes away from the main lodge and snow tubing. The house is surrounded by the Hunter West-Kill Wilderness and wonderful hiking opportunities including the trail to the Hunter Fire Tower at an elevation of 4,040ft, the highest elevation of any fire tower in NYS. You will be rewarded with incredible views in all directions. The trail can be accessed by taking the lift to the Summit Lodge and is available some summer weekends as well. The vibrant village of Tannersville is just 10 mins away with wonderful opportunities for antiquing, bars and restaurants. Windham is 15 minutes away and offers the opportunity to ski at the Windham Mountain Club or try one of the many bars and restaurants. Popular Kaaterskill Falls hiking trails are only 15 mins away. Please refer to our area guide for more nearby attractions and activities. The Chalet is built over three levels with four bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. The house sleeps a maximum of 10 people including children. The first floor is an open plan space with the main living room, dining room and kitchen with island seating. A gas fireplace creates a cozy ambiance for the evening’s wind down. Fireplace is turned off for summer. On this floor there is a queen size bedroom and a full bathroom. The kitchen is well appointed with kitchen equipment and basic supplies for the chefs in the family. Patio doors lead to an oversized wrap around porch with outdoor seating, a gas fire pit and gas bbq. The Second floor has two bedrooms on opposite sides of the house - one queen and a master bedroom with a king size bed. There is a workspace in the master bedroom. A full bathroom is shared between the two bedrooms. On the lower level recreation space there is a large open area with a couch and chair. A large television for evening movie nights. Board games are available as well as a foosball table for endless fun. A day bed provides extra seating and sleeping options. Two single beds may be used as needed. There is a full size bedroom and a full bathroom on this level as well. A washer and dryer are available for guest use. Guest access Guests have access to the entire property except for a locked owner’s closet and mechanical room in the lower level. Other things to note Wildlife in the Catskills - we are situated in the middle of the most beautiful area of the Catskills and nature abounds! You will likely see wildlife during your stay. You may see deer, turkeys, groundhogs, foxes, etc. Please note that we are in bear country. It is very important to discard of all garbage in the secure bear-proof garbage cans. All bbq and food items should be brought inside and the bbq scraped clean after use to avoid having unwanted visitors. Bears are generally very timid but they make a terrible mess! The house is regularly treated for pests but being that we are in the country, it would not be unusual to have an insect or mouse make an appearance inside.
