Ocean House, Normans Cay

This beautiful water front property is located on Normans Cay in the Exuma Islands of the Bahamas. Ocean House is a 2 bedroom unit with a large kitchen, living and dining area. There is a large veranda with outside dining for 12 and an outdoor living area and pool. There is an 80Ft dock for your boat and great snorkeling right off the dock. This pet friendly property is on 5 acres and is an absolute peaceful , private place to unwind and take in the crystal clear waters of the Exumas. The space Ocean House offers 2 bedrooms , 1 king and 1 with 2 double beds, each with its own entrance to the veranda and each with amazing water and pool views. Guests have the choice of dining in or on the large veranda equipped with a table that seats 12 . There is also an outside living room area perfect for after dinner conversation , cocktails and entertaining. There is a large mat in the water for kids and adults alike to play on . There is also a float that fits 6 adults to sit in and share the days delights. There are 2 kayaks to explore the shallows . Guest access Ocean House is one half of a duplex . If you book Ocean House only , no one else will be in the other unit . Other things to note Come and experience the tranquility of this peaceful paradise and the white sand beaches of the Exuma Islands! Guests will need to bring in their own food and drink. There is one small store on Normans which is good for any incidentals. Highbourne Cay, 5 miles to the north, offers a well stocked store as well as a nice restaurant called Xuma. Highbourne Cay is accessible by boat or sea plane only. Provisioning can be made in advance for an additional fee . There are 2 restaurants that serve lunch and dinner 7 days a week. A brand new world class yacht club is open for cocktails and dinner. Reservations are required and the dress code is long pants , collared shirt and closed toe shoes for the men and upscale casual for women. Macduffs is a beachy, chic restaurant offering lunch and dinner with a relaxed island atmosphere. Reservations are recommended for dinner . Property Notes: Each rental comes with a truck to move around the island. There are beach chairs , umbrellas and coolers available. There are 2 , 1 person kayaks and 1, 2 person kayak. 2 paddle boards 80 foot dock included in rental rate. The dock has shore power available for an extra charge but the entrance to our protected lagoon only allows for boats with a 5 ft or less draft at high tide access. There is 8Ft at low tide at the property dock . There is a world class Marina at Normans should your boat draw more than the entrance to the lagoon allows. Enjoy world class fishing less than a half mile from our shores. World class snorkeling is available all around Normans along with the infamous drug plane sitting in 10 feet of water . The Exuma Land and Sea Park begins just south of Normans. Due to the prime location of Normans Cay in the Exuma chain, Shroud Cay, Compass Cay and Staniel Cay are all easily explored . Shroud Cay with its “washing machine” , Compass Cay with its famous swim with the sharks , Big Majors Spot with the swimming pigs and the Staniel Cay Yacht Club are all easily explored from Normans by boat or sea plane. Little Farmers Cay, just south of Staniel offers a “swim with the turtles” experience.
