The bright living room and 2 upstairs bedrooms have wide pine floors & Shaker-inspired furnishings. Welcome to Vermont. The space Walk through the garden into a bright living space with a comfortable couch and inviting wood stove. Upstairs is a queen-size bed and a double bed tucked in an alcove off the main room. Quality crisp linens make up both beds. The bathroom has simple fixtures that include an antique sink and tub (no shower). All rooms have plaster walls, wide pine floors, giving the place a feeling of simplicity and calm. Guests come to rest and renew, read and write, walk and make pictures. The space was built in 2008 on the site of an old barn to match the original footprint and is attached to the original house where the hosts live year-round. Guest access Guests have access to their private space and the southwest dooryard garden. A continental breakfast (local and organic) may be left at your doorstep, served in the sitting room, or enjoyed at the garden table on pleasant mornings. Your hosts are knowledgeable of the area and can guide you to local points of interest and area events. Other things to note Guests need to know that the house is located at a four-way stop in a rural hamlet. Cars go past at all times during the day. There are occasional cars late at night. The house is primarily heated by a wood stove, managed by the host, with a back-up heating source. Summers are generally cool and fans are available for use during warmer months. There is only a tub; no shower or kitchen. A small refrigerator and electric teakettle is available.
