Hoyt House is named in honor of Minerva Hoyt, a woman before her time, who fought for the preservation of Joshua Tree as a national monument & park. Guest access As our guest, you will have 100% private access to Hoyt House, including the private front courtyard, entire home and covered garage parking. Other things to note Layout: This home is one half of an owner-occupied duplex located in downtown Joshua Tree. Two double-car garages separate the units, ensuring your stay is as private as it is luxurious. Spa Service: The hot tub is serviced every Monday and Thursday between 11am and 4pm, just so you are aware our spa technician will be there to treat it around that time. He will announce his arrival. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the hot tub. Firewood: If you'd like to use the outdoor fireplace, please note we do not provide firewood. Mike's Liquor in Joshua Tree has firewood bundles and fire starters available just a minute from the house if you need to pick up a bundle. Please do not use lighter fluid to start fires. Desert Wildlife & Safety Tips: The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it’s important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. ESAs/service animals should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group.
