Sunshine Cottage

This house is located in the middle of the Freshwater Valley just minutes from Eureka (5min) and Arcata (10min). Enjoy a peaceful setting away from town, while still being close enough to easily access all the local attractions. Washer/dryer included. The space This guest house is situated on a 3/4 acre property in Freshwater. There is one bedroom with a queen size bed and a smaller bedroom that contains a twin size bed. The living room has a futon with a quality full size mattress. There is a very large entry room/laundry room that also has a full size bed. Freshwater is a pleasant location because it is often sunnier and warmer than Arcata or Eureka yet it is still within close proximity of both cities. Passing by horse stables and through the forest sets the tone for the property. We have a large garden where we grow a multitude of fruits and vegetables which we gladly share with our guests. We raise free range egg-laying chickens in our orchard. Guests are often welcomed with some of our chicken eggs. There are deer that pass through and a bunny family can even occasionally be spotted nibbling in the front yard. This home comfortably sleeps seven people. With a high number of occupants, you may need to take short showers in order for the water to stay hot due to standard water heater tank size. Guest access You can access the backyard which has a full size picnic bench and you will have your own parking spot. If we are around, you are welcome to ask to see the chickens or for a tour of our extensive fruit and vegetable garden. Other things to note We have a dog. He has his own private fenced off yard.
