Description

Holiday House - Cottage 4 The space Charming and beachy, this two-bedroom cottage at Holiday House in Wells features every simple comfort for a summer spent at the beach. The cottage community of Holiday House enjoys a prime location along Route 1 between downtown Ogunquit and Wells, with Footbridge and Ogunquit Beaches both within a one-mile walk or bike ride. (Two adult-size bikes are even provided for your use.) On the shared grounds, you'll find an outdoor swimming pool, a sundeck, and charcoal grills and picnic tables for barbecue dinners in the evenings. This particular cottage is tucked at the edge of the trees, with an outdoor seating area that's perfect for sipping cold drinks, playing cards, and relaxing in the afternoons. The interior is cute and cozy, offering a living room with a smart TV, a snug kitchen with every essential appliance, and two dining areas to choose from - one indoors and one on the delightful screened porch. Complimentary WiFi is provided as well. COMPLEX AMENITIES -Outdoor swimming pool (open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, subject to change) -Grilling and picnic areas THINGS TO KNOW Streaming services are available with guests' own account credentials. Please note that one of the bedrooms has an open doorway to the kitchen has the only access to the 2nd bedroom. Guest access You'll enter through a handle-style electronic lock on the cottage door. Enter your 10-digit code - the Schlage button will flash green when the entry is successful. Wait 3 seconds for the locking mechanism to fully disengage, then pull the handle down to open the door. If the Schlage light flashes red, press the Schlage button to reset the lock; it will flash green when ready. Then enter your code again. After 3 unsuccessful attempts, the system will lock you out for 30 seconds. The lock automatically engages when you close the door - be careful not to lock yourself out. Check-in is at 4pm, and checkout is at 10am unless you've arranged a late checkout. For emergencies, there's a backup lockbox on site with a key to the electronic lock - call for the lockbox code. Other things to note The property has a shared seasonal pool open Memorial Day through Labor Day, 9am-9pm weather permitting. Only renters listed on the reservation may use the pool per HOA rules. A shared charcoal grill is located in the shared common space. Trash should be placed in the on-site dumpster at the south end of the property on the shared driveway - look for it on your left across from the rear of cottage #26. The cottage has one wall-mounted A/C unit in the living room and a space heater available for cooler spring and fall temperatures. Hot water is shared across the complex; if it's warm when you arrive, wait about half an hour and run the water for a few minutes to let it reach the unit. There's one smart TV in the living room. WiFi along the Maine coast can be spotty depending on your cell provider - Verizon typically works best in this area. Spectrum is the most common home internet provider locally and may go out intermittently in bad weather. If your WiFi goes out, wait an hour or until the weather clears; if it doesn't come back, try rebooting the modem/router.
