Entire home I am here for you during your stay, but our level of interaction is up to you. I’m only a message away. The cabin is secluded but easily accessible to the road. There are plenty of neighborhood deer around, especially at dusk. Parking multiple vehicles in the circle driveway is a breeze. Motorcycle enthusiasts might appreciate the detached double garage. 15 minutes south gets you to downtown Mount Airy, NC. Throughout the year you will find events such as Mayberry Food Truck Festivals, Market Street Arts & Entertainment District Events, Mayberry Farm Fest, Mayberry Cool Cars & Rods Cruise-In, Mayberry Days Festival, and the Autumn Leaves Festival. The Blackmon Amphitheatre is a popular venue with the outdoor concert series April-October. The Surry Arts Counsil has lots of ongoing entertainment and events for the whole family. 15 minutes north gets you to Hillsville, Virginia and another 10 minutes gets you to Galax. Some annual events in these towns include the Labor Day Flea Market and the Old Time Fiddler’s Convention. Another highlight is the New River Trail State Park which spans 57 miles and follows an abandoned railroad. It runs along the second oldest river in the world, the New River, for 39 miles and passes through four counties and the city of Galax. There you can go fishing, boating, tubing, swimming, hiking, biking, or horseback riding. Less than 10 minutes north of the Blue Ridge South Cabin is the wonderful Blue Ridge Parkway. In another 15 minutes, you’re at The Blue Ridge Music Center and Museum that celebrates bluegrass, old-time, blues, and Americana concerts in a scenic amphitheater that is open May-October. The towns of Dobson, Elkin, and Pilot Mountain are all 30 minutes or less by car. Pilot Mountain and Stone Mountain State Parks are popular every season of the year to enjoy and are breathtaking to experience. The largest family-owned estate winery in North Carolina is in Dobson. Twenty-two vineyards are less than 1 hour away and eleven are 30 minutes or less. This is just a sampling of things to do. The two upper-level bedrooms are accessible by a rock-solid and sturdy wooden staircase with railing. The family TV/game room is accessible by a straight flight of stairs with railing and has a turn at the bottom. This is a non-smoking non-vaping home.
