Bhala Ho is in Raithal village, Uttarkashi District, Uttarakhand. The huts have stunning views of the majestic Himalayas. An ideal place for peace, tranquility, meditation, soul searching, connecting with self or partner, it is perfect for writers, nature lovers, trekkers, stargazers, bird watchers, or anyone looking for relaxing holiday. The guests need to climb up a hill for 400 mtrs from village centre. It also has a old Garhwali style wooden house called "Kuthar". The place is in midst of nature and hence provides boundary-less environment for guests. The space has restriction on non-vegetarian food and liquor and hence is not allowed. Guests are welcome to check-in early and stay late if the hut is available. Any arrangement for stay of accompanying driver can be made at an additional cost. Food : we serve simple vegetarian meals three times a day. Guests may make a contribution for food at the end of their stay based on their intention. There is a functional pocket wifi at the hut, however the speed varies between 15 to 40 mbps. Jio, Airtel and Vodafone mobile networks are functional in the region. You should be mindful that being in highest Himalayan ranges, changes in weather and its consequent impact on various things is beyond human control (and can be witnessed here easily). The space includes few fields that may have crops being grown as per seasonal plan. The deep forest is not too far for people to venture and be with the nature. A lot of small trails are there for one to explore. If you wish to trek to Dayara Bugyal, do carry few paper copies of your ID, as those will be needed to submit to the authorities. Also, note that the approval for trek is given by forest officials based on weather and few other conditions and hence make your travel plans factoring in the additional time it may take. Guest access The Guest can access the common room, glass gazebo and can read the books available in there. The kitchen can be accessed with prior permission. Access to the fields and orchard area will need prior permission. Since the place has another hut which we host and our home too , you may find other guests and us accessing common spaces like kitchen and common sitting area besides the fields. Other things to note The huts are away from the main village and village Square. It is on the main trek route to Dayara Bugyal - 'green meadows'. The walk may take 10 to 15 mins on a steep hill. The nearest town is Bhatwari and city is Uttarkashi. The shared cabs run between Uttarkashi/Bhatwari to Raithal village. Those taking public transport must alight at 'Pokhri' / village square in Raithal. The nearest gas/petrol station is in Ganeshpur. If you wish to use a taxi to come to Raithal from Dehradun/ Haridwar/Rishikesh, we can refer someone rated well by the guests in the past. Do not use the location on airbnb as it has an error, kindly use Raithal village on maps as a guide to reach the property. The trek to Dayara requires documentation and approval from forest officials. Either getting those permissions prior or keeping an extra day to get those done would be recommended. We don't organise treks however we can connect you to local trek guides if you wish. Alcohol and non-vegetarian food is not allowed at Bhala Ho and hence request guests to appreciate it. Any waste generated that is non-biodegradable (plastic, glass, medical waste), guests are requested to carry with them. Parking for your vehicle can be done at the village square and is also the place for walking up to the hut. We have a top-loading washing machine. Does it allow zoom and teams calls? Ans- The wifi speed varies between 15 to 40 mbps. You may ascertain whether functionalities work on such bandwidth please. The Airtel Network is best in our area. As long as the mobile towers are operational, the network is good here. Ques- I will be travelling from Dehradun/Rishikesh. Can you let me the most convenient way to reach your place? Ans- The most convenient way is a direct cab from Dehradun/Rishikesh to our village. We may refer someone who has brought guests in the past for the cab. other modes of transport are detailed in the listing and usually takes higher time. Ques- what are the food arrangements? Ans- We serve vegetarian meals three times a day. You may make a voluntary donation for food at the end of your stay. Ques- Please let me know if this room has attached western toilet? Ans- Yes room has an attached western toilet. Ques- If there’s anything we need to know before coming or prepare. We’ll only bring a small bag and back packs so walking will not be an issue. Ans- Please do bring winter-wear at antime of the year.
