Description
If you’re looking for a cabin close to the beach with ocean views of the breaking waves then this is it. Our Rancho cabin is a traditional Costa Rican roundhouse located in the midst of our jungle garden. With a remarkably high ceiling, this cabin has a uniquely spacious, yet cosy, look and feel. You’ll find a king-sized bed, 4/ 6 single beds and a bathroom with a warm water shower. Attached is a front porch with hammocks. Because of the number of beds, our Rancho is perfect for family stays. The space Whether you are looking for a family friendly holiday, a romantic getaway or are a digital nomad looking for a place to work and surf with great food then Rancho Burica is definitely the place for you. Rancho Burica lies where the bad road ends and the good life begins. Our beachfront cabinas and accommodations are the perfect jungle hideaway in Costa Rica. Nestled between the rainforest and the Pacific ocean, Rancho Burica offers you great hospitality, peace and quiet within beautiful surroundings as well as great food prepared by our local cooks in our own restaurant. Whether it’s activities such as surfing, jungle tours, yoga, horseback riding or just relaxing and enjoying nature, your stay at Rancho Burica will for sure be a memorable one. This area has an extremely high biodiversity and stunning views from the beach’s deck or from the ‘mirador’ up on the hill in our jungle garden. You might see dolphins or whales passing by. Our main attraction is our refreshing waterfall in our garden to cool off in as well as numerous waterfalls along the jungle/beach edge as you walk south from the Rancho. For a restful siesta try one of our hammocks that can be found under the palm trees near the beach. When you’re walking around in this beautiful surrounding it’s not unusual to see Scarlett Macaws flying over your head and monkeys howling at you. The ‘mono titis’ (squirrel monkeys), howler monkeys, iguanas, toucans, hummingbirds, sloths and a variety of snakes and everything else you might expect on a jungle walk, flies, swims and crawls around here. When the tide goes out (a 10 foot difference) the tidal pools abound and are full of marine life. Wildlife For its size, Costa Rica is the richest bird country of the world. More than 900 species in a country a bit larger than The Netherlands, it’s heaven on earth. And the good news is: most of them live in and around Rancho Burica. The Rancho has a beautiful and well maintained garden. Birds everywhere. Toucans, Hummingbirds, Scarlet Macaws, Aracari’s and Trogons can all readily be seen. But there’s more around the Rancho. Black Iguana’s run through the garden and young Jesus Christ Lizards climb the boulders of the little stream on the far end of the Rancho. Monkeys! The Mantled Howler is an easy one; the hooting sounds of the males wake you up early in the morning. Not always around, but still a regular visitor is the endangered Squirrel Monkey, with its yellow coat and skull-like pattern on the head. They whistle almost like birds! Little insect eating bats hang from the walls of the Jungle House and can be seen at close range. And if you’re still wanting to see more wildlife, just hop on a boat to the other side of the Golfo Dulce. Within an hour you’re in Corcovado National Park, the wildest National Park of the country. To make the most out of your visit to the Rancho, please bring a pair of binoculars with you. Last but not least, we have our own turtle hatchery on our property. Thousands of baby sea turtles are set free each season and guests can take part in this special and unique experience without any crowds at all.
