Little Sawah Bungalow
Description
This cozy bungalow for two with a large terrace overlooks lush rice fields and sits by a small river under big trees – perfect for relaxing in tropical nature. Although in the countryside, it´s only 20 min away from Jogja´s city center. We are a German-Indonesian family living nearby who has loved this area for years. The chill breeze in the fields and the soothing sounds of nature invite you to unwind and forget about everyday life. A healthy, homemade breakfast is included in the price. The space This bungalow built of wood and bamboo offers a cozy get-away for up to two people. It is nicely furnished with a queen size bed (160 x 200), a desk and a shelf. A set of chairs on the spacious terrace is the perfect place to sit, watch the fields and get lost in daydreams – or to roll out your yoga mat and exercise in a natural environment. Although located in the village area, the bungalow has access to high-speed internet (150Mpbs/5G and 4G), making it suitable for digital nomads or remote workers. The house is surrounded by tropical nature. Birds chirp in the morning in the big trees, water burbles down the river, geckos crawl around and at night frogs are performing their concert in the fields. Attached is a modern bathroom that is beautifully designed using natural materials. The shower has cold and hot water, the toilet is in Western style. There is free water from a dispenser and a water cooker in the kitchenette to make coffee and tea. ADDITIONAL SPACE If you travel with friends or family, you can rent Little Sawah Bungalow together with other Little Sawah rooms or houses that are right next door. Please check our listings of Little Sawah House, Little Sawah Wetan and Little Sawah Kulon. CHILDREN “Little Sawah” and the rice fields are a perfect natural playground for children – also for ours. However, we do not promote the place as kids friendly. Especially toddlers might not be completely safe (and need to be watched all the time) due to the included stairs and the nearby river. Guest access GETTING AROUND Through our extensive family network we can help you to rent a scooter or a bike. For day tours we cooperate with independent drivers and guides. Since we are also travelers that always look for beautiful places and authentic experiences, we are happy to give you advice where to find spots off the beaten path in the area around Jogja. FOOD & SHOPPING In the price included is breakfast with a choice of several Indonesian and Western dishes: Nasi Goreng (fried rice), Bubur (rice porridge with vegetable), Bread & egg or Jajan Pasar (a choice of traditional snacks from the local market) together with coffee, tea and a selection of tropical fruits. Against additional charge, we also prepare you a Muesli bowl with home-made yogurt. In walking distance in the nearby village and along the main road, there are several Warung (food stalls) serving local food during day and nighttime. 200 meters down the village road are 2 little grocery stores. LAUNDRY There is a laundry service with that we cooperate. INTERNET We provide a WIFI hotspot. Find connection details in the arrival guide inside the booking information. Other things to note By building “Little Sawah” we wanted to create a place where we can both connect to the area around and enjoy privacy. We follow an environment-friendly concept: We strictly separate waste, use water only as much as needed and live in harmony with the nature and people around. You may see farmers working on the fields or tending sheep and they may look at you or greet you. In that case, we kindly ask you to just smile and greet back and contribute to the harmonic atmosphere that the people there are used to. Our land is located in the middle of tropical nature. And of course, there are also other creatures living there. We do our best to separate their and our habitat but please consider this fact when making a booking.
