Description
Situated on three acres of grassed field alongside a wild flower meadow, the hut offers a peaceful escape for those seeking a blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. Hand-crafted from scratch by your host Dave, this shepherd's hut boasts a generous 9ft by 22ft footprint, larger than a standard shepherd’s hut. The hut offers the best of both worlds – a tranquil escape surrounded by nature, yet with the convenience of a village pub just a stone's throw away. The space The shepherds hut has a hand-built king size bed, kitchenette, bathroom, and both indoor and outdoor tables and chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with Belfast sink, gas hobs, oven, fridge, kettle and toaster. There is also a log burner to keep you warm on cooler evenings. The bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet, with hot water readily available. Tea, coffee, sugar and hot chocolate are provided, along with other kitchen basics such as salt and pepper. There is no WiFi in the hut but there is a TV with access to Freeview channels. Bedding and towels are provided. To ensure your stay is even more enjoyable, we offer a generous supply of logs for the wood burner throughout your entire visit, at no additional cost. Guest access Guests will have full access to the three acre field that the hut sits in. Feel free to explore – we have a wild flower meadow (seasonal) and a pond at the edge of the field. Guests are able to self check-in using a lock box on the side of the hut (details sent the day before check in). You will be left in privacy for your stay, but we are on hand should you need us. Once you arrive at Seven Acres, just follow the ‘hut’ signs until you reach the 'car park' sign at the edge of the field. The hut is in a field, and although you can park close by, please be aware that it might well be muddy .. so wellies might be a good idea especially in winter! Other things to note It's worth noting that the property has a history as a former poultry farm, and although there are no livestock on-site now, you may observe some agricultural machinery moving around during the day. The main driveway will see vehicles coming and going, but rest assured, the field where the shepherd's hut is located sits tucked away at the bottom of the land. Here, you'll find peaceful seclusion. While the shepherd's hut is designed for two guests, if you're wanting to travel with a larger family, there's ample space available to set up a tent for additional family members. Feel free to reach out to us for a more detailed discussion. Do keep in mind that in such cases, bathroom facilities will be shared. Please note there are two large steps leading up into the hut, and uneven (grassed) terrain leading to the hut. Therefore, unfortunately it may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.
