Description

Surrounded by mountains and nature with sweeping views of the Shenandoah Valley, you can truly relax in this cabin after a long day of hiking or outdoor adventures. Creating lasting memories such as roasting marshmallows or playing board games with your love ones. Enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful views of the surrounding area. Located only 7 miles from downtown Luray and the famous Luray Cavern, you’ll find plenty of activities to do and places to explore. The space Our house is located on 2.5 acres of land in the outskirts of town. You’ll be surrounded by trees and open space on a mountain side. The road leading up to the house is on a steady incline, and you can get there in a sedan, but during winter and under snow conditions, it is best to travel with a suv or a truck. Because the house is surrounded by trees and the nature, we deal with bugs, critters and power outages sometimes. You should set your expectations accordingly. But the lows more than made up by the beautiful sunsets, the colors of the seasons, and an opportunity for true relaxation. The house is: 12 miles from Thornton Gap Entrance Station for Skyline Drive 16 miles from Shenandoah River Outfitters 7 miles from Luray Cavern 30 miles from Front Royal We hope you’ll make yourself at home and enjoy: Cooking in the newly renovated spacious kitchen (stocked with all the necessary utensils) Playing board games Gathering around the outdoor firepit to make s’mores Stream music wirelessly on the porch Star gaze at night time The cabin is equipped with starlink internet, where you can stream Netflix and other streaming services. The home is BYOL (bring your own login). There is laundry machine and dryer located next to the kitchen. Guest access The cabin is equipped with smart locks and keyless entry. Each guest has a different entry code provided. No information about guests is kept or stored on digital locks. Check in at 3pm Check out at 12noon Self check in with code Other things to note Stargazing: If you like looking at the stars you will not get a better place than this. Often at times during clear nights the stars are exceptionally clear and close. With the property lights out it is often so clear you can make out surrounding gases of the milky way. Sometimes you'll see a train of 20 some purple lights which are the starlink satellites moving through the sky. Often you can make out other satellites moving across the sky at high rates of speed. And shooting stars are regular occurrence. Outside the property lights there is no light pollution giving way to exceptional star viewing. Electric Vehicles: The property has a Black 200ft heavy duty power cable located on the side of the house that can be used to connected 120V. Outdoor Music: The property has 2X 200watt bluetooth speakers located on the front porch accessable by any mobile device. Play your favorite music and listen by the firepit. Grilling on the firepit: Honestly, it takes some practice. The home has a 36 inch grill top that can be placed over the firepit that can be used to grill foods. It’s best to have a good fire going for 2 hours and spread the wood coals around to get an even heat. Technical Observations: Due to the location of the property at the top of mountain and surrounded by mountains cell phone service can get spotty. This home includes a 5G cell phone booster system with associated system for all the major carriers to ensure cell phone services even at this remote location. It is recommended to switch mobile devices to use 'Wifi Calling" and connect to the homes wifi system which leverages the starlink system. Sometimes guests’ mobile devices can get confused from cell phone booster system and using the wifi inside the home. This can be more specifically observed around sending pictures through instant messaging apps. Often rebooting or switching to "Airplane mode" then out will resolve this.
