Sanjarah Cottage is a delight. It is a wonderfully designed space set in a lush garden, with two en-suite double bedrooms, a gorgeous swimming pool and a long veranda with dreamy day beds. The open plan living room and very well equipped kitchen, offers a great place to chill and the cottage is fully staffed. It’s an easy 20 min walk to the beach and a few minutes to the creek. Watamu truly is a paradise with one of the most beautiful beaches in Africa. We look forward to welcoming you soon 😊 The space The cottage is very cosy and private. It is set in a tropical walled garden, with its own gorgeous swimming pool, with a gazebo at one end and a terrace at the other - both perfect spots to unwind or dine. The kitchen and living area are beautifully decorated with local paintings and artifacts and the space is open plan with a central island in the kitchen for meal prep or dining. We have board games and lots of books and we also provide a travel cot for babies. We really love having families stay with us. We have yoga mat for guests and there is a shaded, chill out area near the pool, perfect for yoga or day dreaming. The bedrooms overlook the pool and both have very comfortable large double beds and an ensuite each with strong showers. Mosquito nets frame the beds and each bedroom has a desk and lots of storage space - WIFI is provided. The kitchen comes fully equipped for self catering, with lots of spices and essentials to get you started. The team clean the cottage and pool every morning and also provide a turn down service in the evening. Alex is a great cook and is available for a separate fee to cook dinners - fish curry is his specialty. Sanjarah Cottage is next door to Sanjarah House - same plot but there is plenty of space with a garden in between. Guest access Guests will have access to the cottage property, the cottage, pool and garden. There are three lovely black Labradors and a young rescue dog on the property, they live separately from the cottage but you are welcome to meet them. They are used to children and love playing. We have a yoga 🧘‍♀️ mat available if you don’t have your own. Alex - our head of staff, will be on site, during your stay and he and the team will ensure your stay is wonderful. Other things to note We have a generator and we use it mindfully as power can be a problem in Watamu. We have a water dispenser with cold filtered water in the kitchen and we have fans in both bedrooms and the living room and kitchen. Most days there is also a very good sea breeze and there is plenty of shade on the veranda. One of the things that sets us apart, is our amazing team. Past guests have often remarked on how brilliant the team have been - warm, welcoming and always wanting to help.
