(2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom) The space Safe Haven is a bungalow with fabulous sea views in the pretty seaside village of Aberporth, Ceredigion, just minutes from the beach. The property has excellent wheelchair access inside and out. The light and airy open-plan living area has French doors leading to a pretty garden and deck with breathtaking views of the sea and Cardigan Bay. Any holiday spent at Safe Haven should prove good for the soul. Safe Haven is just a few minutes’ walk from Aberporth’s sandy beaches and the fabulous Ceredigion Coast Path with a wheelchair accessible section leading from the village. You might spot the resident bottlenose dolphins in the bay and Red Kites frequently fly overhead. Aberporth is a popular seaside village with a small supermarket, cafes, a pub and takeaways. The two safe beaches are great for swimming and water sports. The coast path links to several nearby coves, such as Tresaith, Penbryn, and Llangrannog. The National Trust beach at Mwnt is nearby. A short drive away the seaside village of New Quay offers dolphin spotting boat trips in Cardigan Bay. Golf, horse riding, fishing, and boating are all available nearby. The historic town of Cardigan with its independent shops, galleries, supermarket, pubs, and cafes is just 7 miles away. ACCOMMODATION Safe Haven sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms: 1 king size and 1 twin. Cardigan Hospital has a Minor Injuries Unit There is excellent mobile phone reception There is Free Wifi and Netflix at Safe Haven The property is available from 4 pm on the day of arrival Arrival and car parking: Off road parking for two cars directly in front of the property on a tarmac drive with easy, level access to the main entrance There is side and rear access to a vehicle once it is parked The tarmac drive merges into a dropped curb with access onto the quiet road There is an automatic outside light Inside Main entrance and reception The entrance is a large wide double glazed doorway with low threshold and no step for ease of wheelchair access A magnetic doorstop holds the door open while you enter There are electric sockets in the hallway where you can charge up your wheelchair/battery/scooter equipment if necessary Dining room and lounge A wide doorway from the hallway leads into the living areas A magnetic doorstop keeps the door open for ease of access The whole room is open plan and has laminated wood flooring All light switches are at an accessible height and have dimmer switches An Electric heater sits on the wall under the glass roof for extra heating during the winter months Kitchen There is a larder cupboard at one end providing easily accessed food storage to a wheelchair user; there are also drawers and cupboards for storage at an easily accessible There is an adjustable tray table that can be moved around for your convenience There is an electric heater on the wall under the picture window and another on the wall near the bathroom for use in cold weather Bedrooms Carpeted floors Wardrobes have low-level clothes rails Low-level light switches and pull-cord from bed One of the single beds in the twin room is an ‘Electric Care Bed’. It makes a perfectly fine ordinary bed for an able bodied person too. The other is a regular single bed with a pull-out trundle bed underneath The mattress protectors and pillows are anti-allergy There is an adjustable bed tray/table that can be moved from one room to another for your convenience, e.g. reading or breakfast in bed Bathroom and shower room Wide sliding door Non-slip floor Shower has an optional shower chair on wheels if required Power shower unit is accessible at wheelchair height Grab rails on the shower wall for extra security Panic button grab cord on the ceiling between the shower and the toilet in case needed One wash basin is at low-level Grab rails beside the raised toilet and also a portable frame for support Outside: Deck is large and flat with no steps Garden area sloping away from the deck comprising of a lawned area External light Deck is slippery when damp/wet Additional information: No smoking in the property but welcome to smoke in the garden No dogs but guide dogs welcome Mains wired smoke alarm and a fire extinguisher If you need some extra care or assistance during your stay, then please let us know as we can put you in contact with a local company that are willing to provide help to you on a casual basis There is an electric Hoist available for hire by prior arrangement for £70 a week. Use of this item is entirely at your own risk and can be arranged directly with the owner. Other items can be hired & delivered locally for an additional charge payable directly to the supplier We request that you vacate the property by 11 am on your departure day Dolphins are often seen in the bay around Aberporth!
