This newly renovated home is in a quiet wooded setting just outside Lake George Village. Great location for exploring Lake George or as a jumping off point for excursions in all directions. Walking distance to Lake George Village. 15 min to Great Escape amusement park. 20 minutes to Bolton Landing. 30 min to Saratoga Performing Arts Center and the Saratoga Race Track. 80 min to Lake Placid through the beautiful high peaks of the Adirondacks for day hikes and paddling. Our house is located right outside Lake George Village. You don't have to go into the Village to get to it which is really nice when the Village gets busy during summer months. You can walk into the Village for shops/restaurants and the public park and beach if you choose which, again, is a nice option when the Village is busy. The house is right off of the Northway (I-87) and so is really great if you want to use it as a home base for day trips into the high peaks of the Adirondacks or if you want to head south to Saratoga Springs and the horse track. If you like to hike, there is great hiking in the Lake George basin with spectacular views of the lake. Even though it is so close to the Village, it is a quiet neighborhood and makes for a nice respite after a long day. The Village of Lake George is a 5 minute walk from the house. You can also drive in, of course. For public transportation, the Lake George Trolly travels from Lake George Village north along the lake to Bolton Landing. It also travels south to Glens Falls. For $1 it is a nice option if you want to take a day trip up to Bolton Landing which has nice shops/restaurants and a nice park with a public beach and tennis courts.
