Bayvil is a sympathetically restored beautiful Welsh farm cottage located in the wonderful Pembrokeshire National Park at Nevern. A perfect spot for an amazing family holiday or meeting friends for a break. (4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms) The space Bayvil is a family-owned traditional Welsh farmhouse which has been sympathetically restored retaining some original character features while providing the comforts of modern living. The cosy cottage is light and spacious throughout, fully central heated and offers comfortable beds and bedding. The property lies within the Pembrokeshire National Park renowned for its beautiful beaches and coves, and is midway between the villages of Nevern and Felindre-Farchog and only 4 miles from Newport. Both pretty villages have popular riverside pubs which serve meals. Bayvil is situated in a beautiful rural setting with views across the Preseli hills, sharing private lane access with the pretty unused 18th C Bayvil Church with the National Park path running past the property. Nevern is renowned for its historic interest, its ancient Church with Bleeding Yew tree, Celtic Cross and Pilgrim’s Way and Norman motte and bailey castle. Two miles away is the neolithic monument of Pentre Ifan and access to the Gwaun Valley, which leads onto the Preseli Mountains known as the source of stone for Stonehenge. Close to Felindre is the Nature Reserve of ancient oaks of Pengelli Forest and Ty Canol Woods. Nearby is Castle Henllys, site of Iron Age Fort and tourist attraction popular with young families. The nearest small market town of Newport (4 miles) offers highly reviewed, cafes, restaurants, pubs, art galleries and shops as well as Parrog Beach with its Boat Club and facilities. There is plenty to do in this beautiful part of Pembrokeshire from lazy summer beach days to water sports, boat excursions to Caldey or Ramsey Island, walking, birdwatching , horse riding or golf. A public footpath crosses the drive making Bayvil the perfect location for Autumn and Winter walking holidays. 1 mile away is The Pembrokeshire Sunflower and Pumpkin Farm. The opposite end of the living room leads up the main stairway to three bedrooms and the main bathroom. - The kitchen leads off the living room to the right and the downstairs wet room / shower room to the left. - All rooms downstairs are on one level with no steps and are heated by radiators/ oil central heating - French doors at the end of the kitchen lead onto a small patio area and to the side are 5 steps up to a mini lawn overlooking a pony paddock - The sitting room is light and airy with double aspect windows, comfortable seating for 8+ persons, 40 inch TV with remote control, electric wall fire, standing lamp, writing desk & chair and laminate flooring. - Facing the front door of the living room is the 17th century chimney fawr and wood burner stove, highlighted by the original oak beam. The living room holds a dining table and 8 chairs on one side, and opposite comfortable seating for 8 persons, a smaller TV sits beside one of the 2 sofas. The flooring is wooden parquet and lighting from ceiling spotlights. The room is large and bright with two windows and comfortably accommodates 8 people. - The oak stairway leading up to the first floor is interrupted by a small midway landing and has a solid wood handrail. - The kitchen leads off from the living room opposite the downstairs shower room. The shower/wet room has flat flooring with shower gates, WC, towel rail, shaving socket and wash handbasin. - The well equipped kitchen is bright due to 2 large windows and a French door overlooking patio area and a pony paddock. The kitchen contains an electric Range cooker, induction hob, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, slow cooker, cordless kettle, toaster, microwave, food mixer and a range of Pyrex serving dishes etc. The welsh dresser holds a 4 piece Denby tableware set for 8, plus extra items of useful crockery. Glasses for beer, wine and squash are included. A snack table with 4 stools and a traditional Welsh Settle bench offer occasional seating. A rotary washing airer is positioned behind the house for drying wet beach towels. - The main stairway leads to 3 bedrooms and the family bathroom. The bathroom is light and spacious with double aspect windows overlooking pony paddock and fields. The bath has overhead shower and towel rail, WC, hand washbasin, large mirror, shaving point and mirror, and chest of drawers which houses the free beach towels. - Bedroom 1 is large, carpeted and light with the window overlooking the Preseli hills and countryside. Bedroom consists of King size bed, bedside table and lamp, chest of drawers, mirror, coat hooks, chair, wall shelving, and 2 USB points. NB. The large window has an attractive low wooden window sill, therefore please supervise young children. - Bedroom 2 is carpeted and overlooks the Preseli hills and surrounding countryside. Bedroom has 2 twin beds divided by a small bedside table and lamp. Also consists of chest of drawers, mirror, chair, wall shelving, 2 USB points, and inbuilt wardrobe. NB. This window also has a low window sill, so please supervise young children - Bedroom 3 is carpeted and overlooks the pony paddock/fields at the back of the house. This bedroom has 2 twin beds separated by a small table and flanked by individual wall lamps and USB points. The bedroom consists of a dressing table and mirror, chair, wall shelf and coat hooks. - The ensuite bedroom is accessed by the carpeted stairway opposite the front door. The bedroom has double aspect windows, the large window overlooking the Preseli hills/ countryside. NB. This window has an attractive large low wooden window sill, therefore please supervise young children as appropriate. This bedroom has a king size bed with a small bedside chest, 2USB points, chest of drawers & mirror, large mirror, coat hooks and wall shelving. - The ensuite bathroom consists of shower, WC, hand wash basin unit, shaving point and mirror and towel rail - All beds and mattresses are Silentnight with divan bases and storage drawers. A free full size wooden cot bed or a travel cot and stair gates available on request. Outside: - The ground surface around Bayvil Holiday Let is gravel covered and on one level leading from front to back of the property. At the rear, leading off the patio area from the kitchen are 5 steps to a tiny lawn overlooking the pony paddock. Climbing the steps is not needed to view the paddock. - To the side of the property is the rotary clothes airer and outside cold water tap and concrete tray/drain for washing off sand/welly boots. - At the approach of the property is parking space for 2 cars. To the front of the house is garden furniture including a large table, chairs, parasol, cushions and charcoal BBQ. Double wooden gates provide boundary between Bayvil Holiday let and the property owner small holding which allow access for owner otherwise private. Bayvil is accessed off the Cardigan to Nevern B4582 road turning down the quiet lane which is a No- - Through road past St Andrews church, then onwards a private driveway shared with property owner. Tarmac lane suitable for children on bikes/scooters. - A lock up shed for bikes etc adjoining property.
