This is a very cute small studio. It's a rustic, basic, open space w/ kitchen & bathroom. Perfect to travel on a budget, nice & clean, in the best part of Jaco beach. There is no AC or pool, no glass windows, only a mosquito net on the window. But there is a ceiling fan and standing fan. It's a 10 min walk to the beach & 15 minutes to town where all restaurants & shops are. Surrounded by gardens & surf boards this is the perfect spot to come to CR catch some waves, meet people and relax Welcome to the California - a two-story building in a safe, quiet space with simple, rustic surroundings. Located in the south of Jaco beach about a 10 min. walk from the ocean. Our simple studios are designed with artistic touches, clean bed sheets, and two fresh towels. Each room has open windows with a mosquito screen for bugs. They are not glass windows, only screens, so it's important to keep noise to a minimum. This is not a beachfront property, but this building is in a quiet, residential neighborhood. You can walk 10 minutes to get to the beach, which is south of here. There you can take surf lessons, swim, catch a sunset, and see the horseback riding tours. The town is a 15 minute walk, and you will find access to a variety of things such as options for tours, supermarkets, retail shops, dining, banks and ATMs. The California is located on Calle Santana. From the NORTH – On Avenida Pastor Diaz you will pass the Municipalidad building, a church, a small bridge/overpass, and on the right is the Beach Break Hotel and on the left is Calle Santana. Turn left here. Look for Perico Azul which is just across from the Main gate access. From the SOUTH– On Avenida Pastor Diaz you will pass the Club del Cielo, and Calle Santana will be on your right side. Turn right here. Look for Perico Azul which is just across from the Main gate access. From the LOCAL BUS STOP – You can stop at the Beach Break Hotel and Calle Santana will be right in front of you. If you stop at the Municipalidad building follow the directions above "From the North." From the MAIN BUS STATION – this is in the heart of town, so you need a cab or Uber. Because this is easily a 30 minute walk! We recommend you take a cab (between $4-6 USD) and ask for Hotel Perico Azul en Calle Santana. Then see the directions above "From the North." ENTRANCE GATE ON SITE The Main gate has a large, black iron door which is directly across from Hotel Perico Azul. There is NO private parking, only on the street. There is NO sign The California! We have self-check in, and we will message you through AirBNB with details to access the entrance. It is very important for us to manage your arrival times. Arrival times must be between 2PM - 7PM. TAKE CARE to securely close the gate behind you, and not let it slam and pop back open. This is a safe area, but you are responsible for your security and that of our guests by not making it easy for people on the street to come in. Management is not responsible or liable for any loss, damage, or theft to your personal belongings inside or outside the property. SOUTH (where we are located) , Central (the main town) and the North side (where all the towers are), we are located on a little side street called Calle Santana, where all the people on it except for our two buildings belong to the same family and this makes it very nice and warm as well as safe. The south of Jaco is the prettiest side of town as we have the beach almost in front and its the nice area of the beach with the soft waves and clean sand, also the jungle hike is right behind you. All in all the best part of the town for many reasons. My place is literally a 10 min walk to the water and a 15 min walk to town, both flat pleasant walks, but beach cruisers are probably your best call for transportation and you can rent them anywhere in town. No extra guests, loud speakers or parties allowed. No smoking in rooms or common areas allowed. Toilet paper will block the pipes and cause maintenance issues! There is no washer/dryer access. The washer/dryer on site is for staff and housekeeping purposes ONLY. Please use the outdoor shower to rinse off before entering your studio. This will keep the pipes clear of sand and blockages. PLEASE be careful of your key access! Don’t lock yourself outside. After 8PM there is NO guest assistance.
