Palmetto Cottage is nestled in a quiet neighborhood on the out skirts of the city. Mature trees, the local landscape and the nearby creeks will give you peaceful vibes and a casual environment. Country feel, yet still close to surrounding cities, beaches, restaurants and fun hot spots. Your perfect "home away from home". This retreat is welcoming, cozy and yet spacious, with a fully stocked kitchen and modern appliances. You will enjoy the beautiful greenery in the yard with a view to a pond. The home one side of a duplex, perfect especially for long term stays. It has a coastal cottage decorative appeal. The living area is very spacious with a large dinning table and comfortable entertainment space with fun amenities such as board games, kids books and movies. The kitchen is ready for all your cooking needs, perfect for “snowbirds”, traveling nurse, work from home or temporary college student. The bedroom has a very comfortable queen bed, dresser and plenty closet space for your longer stays. Centrally located in the SW Florida Gulf Coast between various cities; St Petersburg, Tampa, Bradenton and Sarasota - 6-10 min to grocery store; Publix on Moccasin Wallow Rd, or Aldi, Walmart & Detwiler’s Farmer's Market (our favorite) - 10 min to Emerson Point Preserve - 10 min to the Ellenton Outlet Mall and shoppes - 10-20 min to parks and golf courses - 20 min to Dali Museum - 30 min to Ringling Museum of Art - 20-45 min to some of the top voted beaches in the nation; Ana Maria Island, Siesta Key (Sarasota), Clearwater and Saint Petersburg - 45 min to Tampa Airport, Busch Gardens Theme Park, and Lowry Park Zoo - Under 2 hours to Disney World, Orlando airport and attractions. The front entrance is the only entry and exit point for guests. You have access to the whole cottage, (kitchen, living room, dining room, bedroom, bathroom, outside yard), We are you neighbors and live right in the back. We share the roof, however our place has its separate entry/exit. Upon arrival you will use the code given to enter the front door. We are literally your neighbors! (We live in a cozy efficiency connected to the back of the duplex and my in laws live right on the other side). If we are out of town, my in-laws live right next door and are happy to help with anything you might need. However, please communicate any requests and we will promptly reply via text, email or through Airbnb. Have a question about the area? Where to go, recommended "good eats" or events? Please don't hesitate to ask. Contact us anytime between 7am - 10pm. If there's an emergency, please don't hesitate to call us directly ANYTIME. We are steps away from kayak/canoe launching sites, fishing areas and walking/biking trails. Short drive away from State Parks, beaches and The Sky Way Bridge. We have neighboring organic local produce stands for farm eggs, freshly squeezed orange juice, honey, key lime pies, cuban sandwiches and more. Ubber or Lyft are always options for getting around, but not a whole lot of city bus traffic in this area since we our on the outskirts of the city. Palmetto is a small town, but in the winter months due to the growing visitor population, can add to your traffic at least 15-20 min more, especially going into the bigger cities during traffic peak times. Always check your destination time, on your GPS when planning your days activities. You'll find that your stay here will have a very casual feel. The fee per night is for 4 guests total. However, if there is a special request for an additional guest in your party there will be an additional $20/per person per night fee. (5 guests MAX). The above mentioned must be disclosed at booking. If not done so, there will be a penalty fee. As you see on our listing, you will see that some areas are shared; the patio and driveway. There is plenty of space in the driveway without blocking your side for coming and going as you please. If you have a special request, such as; using the patio BBQ GRILLING for any given day please make that known to us and we will make sure it ready & free for you to use.
